The cp2 prime lenses seem to be pretty stiff. Definitely stiffen than cookes, master primes or most current cine lenses.
Just wondering how the red rock ff handles them from those who have used both together.

It seems to me red rock won't be able to pull them properly.

    Chris,
i am using CP2s with the RR microremote! No issues.
Did you see page 16 in RRs manual to set motor torque?

    I did. We're those cp2 pretty stiff?
That's good to hear. Does it auto calibrate too without any issues too?

I think they are not stiffer than other cine lenses.
    No problems with auto calibration.

Have you notice a lack of precision with RR micro ff? I mean when you mark a distance on the wheel than go to another point and come back on the mark, the lens don't stop in the right place?
    Thanks

    Arturo,

    Please contact support@redrockmicro.com.

Sounds like you may need to perform an electronic backlash adjustment. It's a cool new feature that removes the backlash from anywhere in your system, be it the lens mount, rod clamp, or motor.

    Ciao Arturo,

yes i have. The RR micro is not that exact as a Chrosziel or an Arri remote focus would be.
But i never had problems with it ... Don't forget, we paid around 2500€ for this unit. And for this the RR micro ia a really great everyday workhorse i would never give away.
The handheld unit is build like a tank and the small and lightweight basstation fits perfectly on the movi.
Did you try to put the motor torque as low as possible with the gain settings? This will increase precision a lot.

    Loren was faster than me.
And... more interesting. Electronic backlash adjustment?

    I've said too mucho_O

Missing the marks on EF and Nikon mount lenses was actually something that had plagued me as an AC long before we made the microRemote, and we wanted to make sure that the microRemote had a way to account for that...

Shoot me a PM if you're having issue's hitting your marks.

I know the average price of a high end remote focus, so i immagine what i got in that price range, compared with weight is a great for everyday use, as you say, mi post was just a way to share experience, because i check the web and nobodies talk about that problem.
I will contact soon the RR support to fix as well as possible the backslash.
    Cheers
    Arturo
