    hey,

it is highly arguable whether 3 tubes + legs of carbon are heavier than servos + all the cabling + 2x pretty heavy-duty legs - so i would actually stick to cinestar legs.. the only reason i was/am using retracts is i'm flying quite a lot with gh2/zenmuse and there you don't have other option..

i will check though whether using retracts + mövi without legs would give me some advantage (maybe less of exchanges etc?), but that's minor decision..

if you are still looking for retracts i'd suggest going for dji retracts - the price went down, i think and you will avoid lots of hassle (i have actually switched to dji retracts after some time, as they are better thought through than custom-built stuff - do not drain any battery while mid-flight and are very nicely built)

    hope that helps,
    jk

No chance retracts are lighter then CineStar 3-axis landing gear!

Peter, that X8 is a sweet looking bird. Care to share how you implemented the retracts?

Do the landing gear get close to your props?

Looks like you are using the "Hungry PDB" with the heat sinks removed. I did likewise mostly to make it fit better inside the hub so that the overall hub height could be minimized. And it still required some thought to get it all to fit properly without risk of a short etc. As a safeguard I will do an IR temp check on the PDB after each flight.... Are you happy with this PDB?

Yes i use these props on most of my birds, a bit stiffer then my others and a litle more flighttime so yes really happy :)

I think the Pdb is a bit overkill but its the smallest one that can handle that power, i dont think it is on my shopping list next time, becouse of it only have 8 connections, and i need power for LED, wookong ect..
