    Hey,

I also posted this in the Monitor forum, but this category looks more active. I'm looking to buy a monitor around 7". I would like to power both the monitor and a paralinx receiver off of the same battery.

Does anyone know of any solutions currently available?

    Thank you,
    Jake

    Hi Jacob!

First - thanks for your interest in my Paralinx products!

SmallHD has some really great 7" options - including the DP7 OLED and LCD:

    LCD:

    OLED

Their AC7 monitors are also quite good.

Personally, I power my monitors from a light weight Gold mount battery like this:

You could also rig up a LiPO battery if you are handy with a soldering iron and more patient.

SmallHD has a dock that will hold an Arrow, Another benefit of the gold mount plate is you have aux P-Tap ports for powering additional items if you need to. Hope that Helps!

    best,

    Dan

    Hey Dan,
These were the options I had looked at, but DP7 OLED and DP7 Pro High Bright are the only two that have a dock available for the Arrow. As of now, the DP7 OLED will take 3-5 weeks to ship and both are quite expensive.

The AC7 could work as a price point for me, but I did not have a solution for powering the receiver after speaking with SmallHD on the phone. SmallHD said that Arrow won't connect with their adapter to AC7. Is this your understanding as well?

Does the light weight Gold mount battery work on the AC7?

Soldering isn't a bad option but I'd prefer a solution out the box if possible.

To clarify, there are 3 SmallHD monitors in the DP7 line (in order of price low to high) DP7 Pro LCD, DP7 Pro OLED and DP7 Pro High Bright.

Only the DP7 Pro OLED and DP7 Pro High Bright have an adapter for receiver.

Do you know if either the DP7 Pro LCD and AC7 take the gold mount battery?

Alternatively, do you know of any 7" monitors under $1000 that can work with Gold mount battery in order to power monitor and Paralinx receiver?

    Hi Jacob,

This is correct - exactly the same as one of my setups.

As for run time - I get between 3 and 4 hours on that battery running the monitor and receiver. That's literally the lightest weight gold mount battery I have found.
