And the best beer in Oz for 2013?
    Mountain Goat Steam Ale.

    Mountain Goat? Really?
Dangerously close to Aussie sheep jokes, eh? <evil grin>
Still, I shouldn't complain too much otherwise someone in Oregon will make me drink Budweiser instead of Guinness (or Black Butte Porter).

    Hey Gents,

I'm currently trying to mount a C300 to my MoVI, however I can only secure the sliding plate with one screw...

As soon as I balance and turn on the MoVI the oscillation shakes the single screw loose... not ideal :/

Did any of you figure a way to have more than one screw securing it?

Not to worry, I got my hands on a Zacuto base plate... sorted out the problem.

    Hi there thanks for sharing.

So I'm wondering if the IKan ISBU95 would work mounted horizontally on the top bar of the M10? My idea would be to power both the follow focus and the paralinx off it. Not sure if it would though. Secondly, do you know if the Small HD DP6 would power the paralinxvia its usb? I don't have one so I can't try it myself. Lastly, how are people mounting the montiros to the top bar??? Thanks, Chris

Not sure about the Ikan you mention - I have no experience with it. The great thing about the SWIT is that it has both d-tap and USB ports, which makes it very versatile for these setups.

Yes, the DP6 will power a Paralinx transmitter via its USB port if you enable the 5V option in the menu. As for mounting, something like this Giottos mini ball head is one option:

    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/221096-REG/Giottos_MH1004_320_MH_1004_Mini_Ball.html

You just need a 1/4" bolt to secure it to the monitor accessory on the M10.

I mount my monitor using a MoVi Accessory Mount and a Bettie Ball Mount. Keeps everything nice and low profile and never slips! If you're using that battery on the back of your monitor, that's going to be a lot of weight fighting against just an ordinary ball head.

Loren: Does that Bettie Ball Mount also allow you to slack off the pressure on the locking lever a tad so you can keep the monitor snug, but movable if you need to tweak it one handed? I find with sunhood on the Small HD DP4 it's nice to be able to tweak the monitor depending on the shot.

    Andy,

It's not something you'll be able to leave semi-loose and reposition, it's more a locked or unlocked deal.

But man when it's locked...I've hung something like 40lbs of dumbbells off it and it didn't budge.

Thanks for the info, Loren. Good to know it holds, bad to know you can't tweak it unless you have both hands free, though.
    Ah well, I'll keep looking.

    Hi

I also face problems with M10 and C300 which are

    1, mounting a micphone on M10 or C300

    2, any 5 or 4 Small Monitor to M10?

btw, the C300 is fit with M10 no too tall problem.

    Thanks

Hey Ben could you send me a link or the name of the red rock accessory bit that attaches your mdr to the top cold shoe rail rod mount?

Thanks their website is crazy to navigate and to search for stuff.

    Just 2 thoughts:
    # the top cold shoe of the c300 is too weak for some lenses, ie with the zeiss cp 2 and arri motor I had a HUGE amount of torque/torsion on it.
    # the usb out of the small hd and of the swits ( wich I love!) are 1A, that is enough for the Paralinx but just too little ( 2A) to be able to have full range on the sender.

    Cheers

    Chris,

The Cold Shoe mount Ben has is the Gimbal Rail Clamp, located here: http://store.redrockmicro.com/Catalog/Gimbal-rig-gear/Gimbal-Rail-Clamp-for-Remote-Focus

As well as a few of our cable wrangling microTies: http://store.redrockmicro.com/Catalog/Cable-Management-accessory/microTie

Just got our MoVI in yesterday.

I gave myself the brave task of balancing a C300 w/17-40 f4 as my first camera on the MoVI.
Took a few hours from start to finally getting the unit on and operating, but for the first day, it was a great start!

Still need to get some optimal video cables to get from my C300 to handle bars.
I'm liking the Atomos Samurai as a solution for monitor (and maybe even recording) and mounting/powering our Bolt Pro 2000, but will most likely put a SmallHD DP7 which has AB mount so I can power both my Bolt and Redrock Micro FF.

Will post more pics when it's all ready to go!
