Thanks I did not see that. So I can essentially assign any of the 6 channels the GR12 to the zoom and record. It says that there are 8 different zoom speeds is that using the flight controller only? Just curious if people are assigning the sticks to the zoom or one of the rotary control knobs?

Andy on a side note I downloaded both the specs for the new 790 and the 760 and it appears that there are small subtle changes for example the new 790 is a tad smaller as well about 85 grams lighter. I wonder how much weight they wasted on the useless LCD projector function. I can't find anyone that has tested this unit but it appears that it has the same chipset, lens, and sensor. I"m betting that the video image will be exactly the same. I am pulling the trigger tomorrow I just wanted a little bit more time to research for any differences and user feedback. Looks like I will be the first.

That's correct -- it needs two channels.

Please post your findings on the 790.

    Andy.

I think I am completely screwed. I just opened up the camera out of the box and it does not have a LANC connector interface. Sony said it did, but it does not. It has a multi connector that I do not believe is interactive with remote capabilities. I searched through the entire manual and I see no way this can work!! sony 790.jpg

Dave the next closest thing looks like the HXR-NX30U. Unless you want something that has interchangeable Sony lenses.
