Hi everybody, We got it! Yes! And we are very happy with it! Got our first paid shoot for Austrian TV and they loved it!! Now the issue: Evrything runs smoothly, the camera is so balanced that if I move around with the motors off it still acts like a floating cam. But when we are slowly tilting or sometimes just on its own, the tilt snaps badly up and down like if it got stuck and released. Now this is really annoying because we had to repeat shots with actors just because of it. Has anybody any suggestion. Freefly guys, is this known to you? Thanks for your answers, we really need a solution cause new shootings are on their way! Cheers Giorgio
Hi, sorry I didn't say it before, the problem is really very casual. Sometimes it makes nothing for 10 minutes, sometimes it makes it many times in a row. I will try to get the rowdy on camera, unfortunately not before Monday. We were thinking about a problem in the radio connection between controller and cpu, but why just tilt? Can it be some telephone or paralinx disturbance? Thanks for all your answers. Ciao G
Giorgio: I would check all the cables that lead from the cable to tilt motor. Make sure they are all plugged in firmly. A loose connector might cause the problem you are seeing. Also, when the odd behavior starts to happen, check the Monitor screen on the DX7s (Page 19 of the manual) to make sure that the ELE (Elevator) signal is not jittering left or right -- if it is, the problem is in the DX7s. But, as Gary says, a video would be most helpful. Andy.
Thanks guys, I will try everything on Monday. Right now the Movi is sleeping in its nest. Now is family time. Cheers G
We did a Video with our iPhone, but we are not able to upload it. do you need it to be on some platform? What you can see in the Video is that in the Charts the "RC cmd Tilt" snaps up in the moment that we have the Tilt problem
Let us make some order, with the tilt speed to -80% we do slow tilts down ( 19%) The more far away we go (or the more walls in between) the more is the Tilt snapping up. It doesn't happen if we stay close to the Movi. We have a Samsung Galaxy 3 , 7 Inch tablet. If we switch it off or switch off the Bluetooth, it doesn't snap any more. Because the problem is so random it could be a coincidence, but my mom doesn't believe in coincidences so I don`t do either. Do you have any Info that the App, or the Bluetooth could interfere with the controller? Can it be that when the signal of the controller gets weaker, the App tries to override it? Are we just hanging on straws or do we have a culprit? Cables are fine and the ELE doesn't jitter. So, should we write the Settings and shut off the App always before starting to work with the Movi? Thanks again for your help Gio
Giorgio also open a support ticket with Freefly and past in the link for this thread. Personally I haven't seen this situation. support@freeflysystems.com Also for the video upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and then you can insert it into the message.
Hi Gary, thanks for being so nice. I tried to send them a mail but it came back twice. Probably I am doing something wrong. Do you have a direct link? Could you interest them in looking at this thread? I used the mail address you gave me but I am not coming through. Is it maybe because the movi is registered under my partners name? Sorry to bother..
I'll forward the message for you. Send me a PM through the conversation button with your email address.
