Got a mail today from a friend shooting in LA with a competitor´s rig and the Epic.
Result was that in 2 days of a 5-day shoot the gimbal was not usable because of wobbling, shaking and lots of other trouble, which could not be fixed on set. He told me that he now fully understands why i chose the original.

Which is arriving tomorrow, to be the first Mōvi in cologne, and maybe one of the first in germany :)?

    Best, Wolf

I got mine a few days ago and I am amazed. Based in Austria btw. I think it will take some time till the competitors are up to this.

    Best,

When will these features be available?
I have a special project for the M10 that couldn't be done any other way but... I need these features.
Is there a way to access them with the debug terminal?

Sorry, it was Steadifly (Birdsiproductions). He didn't buy it, he was just hired as Dop.

Having now used and set up the Movi 10, very impressed.

We now have three of our 15 Ikarus Heavy lift multi rotors with Movi's earning their keep filming, one out working on Game of Thrones , one about to cover Channel Four, and one about to go out to shoot a feature film in South America .

    Cheers

    Justin

Interesting. I wonder if Josh was on hand and unable to troubleshoot his rig or it was rented out without a tech. Unless the hard CF frame components or imu/controller were damaged in some way I cannot see how one would have any issues getting it to work. For us the Alexmos controller is very predictable and easy to manage.

Please take this as advice. If you are using Avrotor 2814-11 770kv brushless motors motors for heavy lift then i hope you dont fly RED.
That is no nearly enough power to have safe flight with 4kg payload. Maximum suggested payload (camera) with them is 1,5kg. Depends on build.

Good advice I would say however, having flown one of these Ikarus rigs, they come with Tiger 4014 motors and it carried the Red beautifully.

Is there anyone who has worked with Movi and Alexmos gimbal with heavy cameras like Red?
Is Movi really better in everyday use? Users have quite a lot problems with Alexmos, at least until it is perfectly tuned. Which takes you some time.

There is absolutely no difference in tuning between movi and alexmos. It all boils down to proper balance and setup. I've seen bad results from both movi and alexmos and i've seen amazing results from both with Epics mounted. Search around the threads here you'll see Movi has it's fair share of issues as well. It's all the same tech.

I disagree Howard, it is not the same tech, and the fact that you say it is tells me you don't understand whats happening under the hood or you have not worked with a MōVI.

Fire up your Alexmos gimbal and push on an axis, tell me what happens.......

It gives-in to the push then returns back to level. Return to level speed is adjustable. One thing we don't experience is roll drift or pan drift...at all.
