Here's a picture I snapped right before I took off yesterday. Got some killer footage. This was shot at McConnel Mills in Pennsylvania.
now thats funny. If you were a complete eco-thug you could carve four props inn the ends for prosperity
thanks guys. The place is called Cleland rock. This was one place I wish I had Andy's beacon system. I was in full manual mode there, GPS was showing 6 satallites and I wasn't chancing it.
Not a Cinestar but I hope you guys don't mind. My second craft will likely be a CS8 This was my 3rd time flying ever but getting the hang of it. Thanks again for such amazing forum!
Hi Nick, I actually do a lot of bird photography in your area in winter time. I lead photo Workshops. Check out my photography site if you have a chance. www.gvisions.org Maybe we'll get together sometime! Thanks!
Very cool work... mad props. Yep defo, when you are down here next, message me, lets get together. Nick
it's not dji retracts, that's hardcore custom-made stuff some carbon, some aluminium, some cnc, hitec servos at a time these were built dji's retracts costed 800€, so it was cheaper to make something yourself (guys at http://helicam.ee built it for me, to be completely honest)
Great pic Jose, just curious, what are the ties going from boom to boom for? Vibration dampening? Nick
Hi Nick a little late on answering but here it is yes that was the theory that by bracing the booms any vibration could be cancel out in reality I did it just to see I guess that on 450mm booms is an overkill I did not notice any difeerence I am probably going to do some specific flights to see if any difference with and without it sure looks cool
Did some upgrades to my bird, 3rd axis/allied drones vibration and quick release, QC3328 motors and 14" Tmotor props. Pushing 11LBS AUW Without camera. 88amps in hover and 140 on full punch out. I also currently have it setup as a single pilot/cam op using a High Torque Savox servo to keep the 3rd axis from spinning and its working perfectly. Next upgrade in the next few weeks will be a brushless upgrade for the gimbal and switching out the aluminum arms for Carbon Fiber.
Jaan..... Any chanceyou could provide me with some additional info as to which Hitec servos you used etc. for your retractable landing gear?..... I prefer your landing gear strategy over the heavier Cinestar landing gear methods...... so I can maximize airtime.
