I recently bought the fore/aft sliding camera rail for my CS 3-axis gimbal, after recently spending good money on some decent spare 1/4" camera screws for the previous incarnation of the camera base plate. When the sliding rail arrived, I found it uses a completely different style of bolt, with more of a conical shape behind the thread, so the older screws are no good at all. Can someone please recommend where I can get hold of some spares of this new screw? Is it a custom made screw (wouldn't surprise me, so they can sell replacements at a premium), or are they available elsewhere? Having only one is a risky game, haven't seen any other posts here on the subject. many thanks Chris
Chris welcome to the forums. Would you be kind enough to change your user name to your real first name and last name, please? The reasons for this (and how to do do it) are explained here: http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/real-names.497/. Pretty common size. Might be able to get it at a camera store.
