    Hello Everyone,

My name is Jim Swanson, not to be confused with the other Jim Swanson on this forum who appears to know a lot more than I do. I am an aerial/tracking cameraman of twenty years experience working with gyrostabilised kit all over the world and I'm very excited by the possibilities this new world is opening up. I know very little about it, but I'm learning fast. Very impressed by this forum and the products behind it.

I'm based in the UK and looking to invest in an RTF 8 bladed arrangement but acting kind of cautiously at the moment. Hopefully doing ground-school at the end of April and taking it from there. Assuming that it's a bit presumptious to think I can learn to pilot one of these things just like that - does anybody know of a roster of UK UAV pilots who are guns for hire? And for that matter, a roster of operators that I could put myself on - assuming I can get the experience... Hmm.. chicken, egg, egg - chicken...

Anyway - it'd be good to hear from anybody. I don't know if this forum allows PM'ing, or urls - but if not, here goes my fast exit...

    All the best

    Jim

    Hello All,

Drew here from Vancouver Island, CANADA. I'm an actor, creative director and cameraman-in-training, due to a new program concept I've been working on for the past year. Saw vids of the MOVI M10 about 2 weeks ago, just before NAB 2013 and it blew my mind. Movie-making/film production has just taken a giant step forward. The MOVI and Cinestar products have sped-up workflow and unleashed creative potential ten-fold. Can't wait to see what FreeFly does next. Kudos to them!

    Cheers!

Hi Everyone! My name is Soren and I live in Northern NJ just across the Hudson River from New York City. I just put my deposit down for an M10 a few weeks ago and am hoping to get my my hands on a Cinestar HL when it becomes available too. I have worked in the film and TV business here in New York mostly on commercials, TV shows and movies for 10 + years now. I am super stoked to be working with Freefly systems products here and cannot wait to see the impact their technology will have in my industry. I would love it if someone could suggest an owner operator here on the east coast I could collaborate with.

Working with Heliguy.com based in Sunny Alnwick in the UK, I manage the multirotor part of the business.

The learning curve may be steep, but I'm just not scared...

    Hello there,

As you can see my name is Chris, I'm just starting out, I'm a photgrapher and engineer, or engineer and photographer ... take it either way ;) Based in Australia, and soon to be the proud owner of a Cinestar 8 and MoVI.

Looking forward to learning from the forum and sharing anything I learn along the way.

    Welcome to the Forum, Justin.

If it's not too much trouble, would you be kind enough to change your user name to your real first name and last name, please? The reasons for this (and how to do it) are explained here: http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/real-names.497/
    Thanks
    Andy

G'day Chris....and welcome to the forum to you too.
Best advice I can give is to watch out for pommie bastards dispensing advice! :) If you're on the receiving end of said advice, crack a tube, put a shrimp on the barbie, and contemplate the probability of whether the advice is worth anything.... :D As you know, we fly on a different side of the sky up in the Northern Hemisphere....

    Andy.

    Hello Everyone
I'm Leo Tamargo and I film normally with an actively stabilized Cineflex systems all over the world. I love what I do and look forward to doing more of it.
I am very interested in adding this very rapidly growing world of RC and airborne cameras to my tool box. I am new top the world of RC but throwing myself firmly into it.
Any productive advice or experiences you care to share would be appreciated.

    Hello,

My name is Elliott Dunwody. I have owned Bright Blue Sky Productions since 1995. My background is Aviation and Law Enforcement.

I have been a pilot since 1972 and am type rated in Lear Jets and Citations. We do a good bit of aerials using Cineflex systems and am now looking at RC platforms. Been practicing with smaller quadcopters and looking to upgrade. Will be monitoring this forum and I am sure will have many questions at some point.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone. I direct for tv and commercials and I'm based in Los Angeles. I used to shoot all my own stuff, so I'm a gear nerd at heart. I don't get to touch the equipment nearly as much as I used to so I lurk on forums like this to absorb news and stay up to date on what's possible, what's exciting, and to get my mind around how this stuff can be used. We are in a period where budgets and shooting hours are being constrained, and yet the creative ambitions of writers and networks are as lofty as ever. When I'm on set I'm always thinking of how to make each setup awesome, but also how to also pick up time whenever possible, and how those few minutes of advantage add up over the course of a week. So even minor innovations can have a gargantuan effect on the process. The Movi (and the work of the rest of the stabilizer community for that matter) seems like innovation that is major, and it's effects will be immediate and profound, so I'm eager to be a part of it.

And to make my setups super awesome.

I applaud anyone who has the enthusiasm and the vision to put their money into something technical, creative, and challenging. That goes equally for the developers and the users.

    Best,

    Blieden

Hello All, I'm a new member of the forum. I'm a retired Comm IFR Helicopter pilot of 32 years. Flew 13 different helicopters to include the AW-139 and EC-155 helicopters. Over 10,000 flight hours. Lost my medical...so I have recently got into flying a CS8. Bought it from Scott Aubuchon in Michigan. Learning to fly it here in Florida. Hope to use it for filming Real estate, Yachts and the like. Curious why RC pilots are reluctant to fly in the carefree mode. I use it on the Flight trg Sim and it seems much easier to fly. I would like some thoughts on that. Also would like a step by step install of the carefree feature. I just installed the latest firmware V2.00b and see the check box, but don't quite understand how to assign a switch to the MX-20 controller. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and it's nice to be here ! Ken
