Take a look at the dials in the GUI and see if they are seeing a change in roll as you pan. You may need to recalibrate the imu.

Tilt follow mode is supposed to be coming in the next firmware update. At least that's what I was told.
"Edit" New firmware is available now. ver 2.2 here

    Hi Roger,

What motors are you using for your HL copter? I saw on QC that they had some of the material available for purchase for the HL but it's no longer available. I'm trying to figure the parts necessary to build mine as well.

    Thanks,
    Terron

How much time have you spent trying different settings? Have you read all the various manuals outlining what each setting actually does? read all the info provided on the Ist page in the RCG thread. Once you've done that I can guarantee you'll be able to help yourself.

I have tried recalibrating using the 6 position calibration this seems to have fixed part of it. Now what happens is as I pan left roll rolls one way and the opposite for panning right. The roll dial does move with the roll axis and it does come back to level after you stop panning.

Any ideas? Thanks for your help so far.

    In
In the GUI you can adjust the LPF under the rc settings tab to help smooth the starts and stops. It acts almost like a ramping effect. Under the advanced tab you can adjust expo in the software vs on the transmitter, as well as adjusting the deadband. It's trial and error between the setting to get it to the camera ops liking.

    Hello,

I made a Steady Hand Gimbal with 2 alexmos controller.
One for the tilt and roll with the IMU behind the Canon 5D the other one for the Pan.
My question is about the IMU's place for the pan axis. Where is the best place to set the IMU?
    Thks

I have now working gimbal with 5208 motors and FS700 camera. Roll and tilt are perfect. But I have problems with pan. If I'm moving slowly it works, but if there are faster movements or if pan motor is not horizontal pan is shaking and it goes out of stabilization.

I read that 5208 is not strong enough for pan axis. Is that true?
For pan I use second Alexmos board.

Are you using a belt reduction on pan or direct drive?

For now it is direct mount.

Definitely going to need to be a belt drive for pan until more powerful boards and motors are available. I'm running the 5208's too and using a 3.6:1 reduction for the added torque. It's a relatively simple solution to more that triple the power of the motor.
