I have plans to build a Movi from scratch and I also have a 3d printer. I really like the design of your mounts. What are the odds that you could email them to me so I can print them as well?

    Hey Guys
I just want to say that I love this forum. Yesterday I saw a video of the Movi. I decided that I have to have one. The hiccup is that I don't have $15,000. I'm a DSLR filmmaker not a copter guy. This will for handheld use only. Before yesterday I didn't know anything about gimbals. It has to have enough balls for my DSLR.
Here is what I think I've learned so far...
    1. 3 axis controllers are hard to come by. But they are coming soon. I found these,

    http://www.goodluckbuy.com/cjmcu-121-mpu6050-integrated-3-axis-gyroscope-accelerator-module-.html
    will they work?
    2. CF is expensive. Can I use 1" aluminum tubing to make the frame instead of CF? Since it will be handheld
    only. I found these brackets.

or will the aluminum be too heavy for the motors?

    3. Balance, Balance, Balance.
    4. I need silent motors. This guy seemed to have figured it out.

On many videos I heard a loud hum. is this because of the motors or because of a calibration issue?

    5. What motors does the Movi use? I want those.
    6. If I can't find a 3 axis controller. Is it impossible to rig a second 2 axis controller for pan.
    7. Ideally I would like to have the capability to have a remote camera man operating the camera while someone else holds the rig.

Is this just wishful thinking or will it be possible for me to make this thing work. I'm not an engineer.

I just started researching this yesterday so I apologize for my ignorance. This is the first time I've ever joined a forum so I hope I haven't broken any etiquette.

    Thank you.
    Kent

Kent the MōVI is using motors engineered, designed and built by Freefly. They are not being sold by themselves.

Do not use aluminum for your tubes. It has a flaw in that it can cause interference with the electronics. That is why CF is the best choice.

So they are not made by Maxon or someone else to FF specs ? They are built completely at FF office ?

Looks good. I like the quality when jumping. Is that shot with a Sony NEX camera?

The motor noise comes as a result of the controller frequency that it operates at. So any motor can theoretically be silent if the controller has the ability to make it so.
