Hi, for these gimbals only need:
    - two brushless motors (tilt and roll)
    - controller card. (interface ?)
    - screws and clamps to adapt everything.

    Gustavo.

Brad, What happens when you surpass the 5A? Does the board just shut off? How do you know that the DSLR is pushing the boards to their limits? Just curious. Thanks.

Grayson, they do indeed look good. Price includes motors for $350

Is it to early for someone to recommend the ideal setup and what to buy and how to convert from radians? I have read through again from page 1 and I'm not sure of the best combination of motors, mounts and controller, I also wouldn't know how to put it together apart from the basic and obvious mechanical connections.

Any suggestions appreciated as I'm sure there are others like myself that would love to convert but need some basic guidance.

Well its actually closer to 4a and it will overheat. Not sure exactly how the shutoff is supposed to work as some of the boards are slightly different but I blew one board testing some larger custom wound motors a few months ago for comparison purposes to a project I am working on.
I did actually manage to lift a Red with some motors close to the same size as the 5208's but it was barely powerful enough and a wind would knock them out of stabilization. It kinda worked but the board got extremely hot... I haven't messed around with these boards since then but the 5D3 worked nicely so I would say from my experience that's the limit then. Things may have changed I donno

What if you were to add a cooling device (heatsink/fan) do you think that would help?

Might help in your climate yes... but the real issue for me was the lack of actual power. I know they are talking about a more powerful board, in the future.

    Bill,

Are you saying total flying weight WITH camera is 7.52kg now? Do you have the weight just for the gimbal portion you built NOT including the camera or lipos? Great job!

He was using the CX760 with BOSS stabilization. Your probably seeing some issues from that.

What voltage batteries were you using with the 5208's?

They recommend 3s-4s for the board

What have you run? I assume that higher voltage translates the same in gimbals the same way it does for other power systems. If the boards max around 4-5 amps, the higher voltage would give more total wattage. (in theory)

    Hi guys,

Ever heard of BGM4114-100? I've been told it's better than 5208 because it's built with 18 magnets instead of 12, so it delivers much more torque and it's 5g lighter. See the specs here: http://www.dys.hk/ProductShow.asp?ID=210
It states it can hold cameras up to 3,5Kg. Any thoughts?
