    Hey guys,
I just got 3 new radians.
It all works great except for my roll radian. Once every 3 startup, it goes straight to bootloader mode. (two solid LEDs). If I restart a few time (3 to 4 times) it eventually goes back to normal.

I did re flash the firmware. This didn't help.

    Anyone had the same problem?
Is it simply a faulty unit?
    Thank you

    bugeye,

A long time ago the beta test Radians had this problem and it was solved in the firmware before production, so you shouldn't have it.

Can you make a jumper which links the two outer pins (signal and Gnd) and fit it into port 5 of the Radian ?. If it is the same thing then it will solve it and we can go from there. If it doesn't it is something else.

If anyone else has this same issue with new Radians, please chime in here.

No : it's a bootloader thing and the bootloader is fixed.

What are the serial numbers of the affected Radians ?.

Serial is 2230, it is written by hand.

    bugeye,

It seems there is an issue with a few recent Radians which have bootloader 0.5 installed. This is only a small batch of the most recent Radians.

We are working out the best course of action, but to cure the problem for now you need to fit the link to Port 6 of the Radian (not Port 5 as I said earlier). The link should be the same as a Spektrum bind plug (signal to Gnd).

Obviously you can remove this link for updates and programming.

The issue has no other effect on the Radian other than going into bootloader on power-up.

Hello. Just received my 1 Radian module for roll today in the mail. Very excited. I think I'm doing pretty well. I've set everything up, and when it's connected to the computer the stabilization works great.

So I disconnect from the computer and shut the power down. When I power back up (nothing in port 5 or 6) I get two solid LEDs - bootloader mode.

I have read this thread and assume it applies to me. Being relatively new to this industry, I don't understand what it means to connect a link on Port 6.

I have a Devo 10 radio - so I don't think I have a Spektrum bind plug. Do I just need to connect 1 wire between the two outside prongs of Port 6?

    Thanks,

    Tom

Oh, btw my Radian does show the newest 1.3 firmware if that affects anything.

OK, got impatient and tried what I suggested about connecting the outside posts - and it works fine now.

    Please ignore!

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Well done, Thomas.
Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I'm still in the middle of a video shoot.

Yup, I seem to be having this issue too. So, for the moment I just need to put one of my Speky bind plugs into port 6 as I understand it? Is there a fix for this yet?

Angus if you continue having problems I would suggest contacting your dealer and see about doing an exchange. That's what JohnC has suggested in the past.

Is there in the meantime a solution for the problem? My Radians only work wit a bridge, otherwise they start into bootloader. Or should I get them replaced by the dealer?

    Cheers

David if you had no success following JohnC's advice in post 2 in the thread then I would suggest contacting your dealer.

There is no in-service software fix for the bootloader issue as the code is very well protected to prevent accidental 'bricking' of a Radian..

If you can't live with a jumper on the module then as Gary says, you need to contact your dealer.

Thanks for the quick answers. The jumpers don't really bother me, but in case I sell the Radians (to get a MoVI), I rather sell a regularly working product. I'll contact Matjaz at Kopterworx where I bought them.

    Cheers
    David
