Finally, some info on pricing, too. Quoting those posts (and no idea if they're accurate):

$15k for support up to 10lbs. (M10 version)
$7.5k for M5 version, which holds less
    Weighs less than 3.5 lbs
Can be operated solo or with a second who works the gimbal
    Can travel in a carry-on
Future version (M20) will handle the weight of a heavier Epic/Scarlet setup.

My assumption from this is that the MoVI may cost in the $10K range when you include the cost of the gimbal for hanging it off our Cinestars. But all should be revealed by next week, right? :)

The Steadicam guys must be starting to sweat a little since now just about anybody will be able to run a shot.
Good stuff though as its about time that ancient technology was put to bed.

    Congrats Tabb!

I just organized a steadicam group buy on reduser (50 buyers) and there was also an other group buy for an even more expensive steadicam system (20 buyers), but I don't believe that we wrongly invested.

Steadicams can do things the MoVi can't, and vice versa. With a steadicam, you're in full controll of all axis (especially the pan axis), have no delays when moving and so on... on most importantly you also stabilize the z-axis.

The MoVI on the other hand will probably be the best gimbal out there (at this price point). Given its low weight and price, it will not only revolutionize aerial photography / cinematography, but will be used as a standard on jibs and cranes.

So the only option is to own / rent both: steadicam and MoVI:)

Absolutely amazing. I don't think I have seen something that will change the way people shoot since the 5D Mark II came out. Congratulations and good luck at NAB.

I hear ya David... I am a Pilot owner and although it does still work fine I think this is a little bit of a shot in the arm technology wise that we have needed.

Now we can have a 2nd operator working seamlessly with the camera. Tracked motion shooting, oh there are so many possibilities. Pretty exciting stuff!!!
