Hello All! someone uses LIPO this company? I think to buy or not!? LiPo 11,000 4-cell 14.8v Battery Pack 825g!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got the 10.9A and will be testing soon. A friend got the 11A (I think) some weeks ago but couldn't take more than 7A out of it. It was working almost like the Zippy 8000. I'll be testing this week to compare and will post some results here.
We just got the maxamps 11,000 5S to test. Initial indications are that they are worth the weight. NO-load cs8 w/360 gimbal flew 10.5 minutes on the stock (quadrocopter) 6200 5s and 15 minutes with the maxamps. They are expensive, and somewhat made to order. It might make more sense to have more 6200 flights for less money (and loss exposure.). I'll know more after a dozen more flights with them. I'll also compare one 11,000 with two 6200's.
What do you guys think are the merits of going with a 5S over a 4S -- obviously the voltage is higher, but I'm not sure whether, overall, the 5S offers significant benefits? Does, for example, more energy get dissipated as heat? Or is the 5S clearly superior? Also, what changes (apart from low voltage alarm?) do you need to change if you go 5S? Thanks Andy
Right. V=iR. But do you find that the higher voltage causes the BL's to run significantly hotter, or are there no unintended consequences?
Past tests have shown the BL ctrls run 10C warmer on the 5s vs the 4s on the Cinestar 8. Cheers, Jeff
Thanks, Jeff. That's helpful to know. I was flying with the 5DM3 + 24mm prime yesterday and with 6200 mAH 4S was only seeing useful "on target" flight times of three minutes, so it sounds like the 11000 mAH and/or 5S might the way to go. Thanks Andy.
I've found that running the numbers through eCalc can answer these questions pretty quickly. When I first got started with this, it didn't make a lot of sense, but then I read the "help" screen and figured out how to use it properly. It is very helpful for figuring out the right combination of battery, motor, and prop for your copter/weight.
Hey Ben: Yeah. I was playing around with eCalc. The funny thing is that, just anecdotally, it *seems* like most people I've communicated with seem to prefer 4S, even though (notwithstanding Ohm's Law ) it would seem that there might be advantage to 5S. So I was puzzled as to what it was in the way of practical experience was suggesting the merits of 4S over 5S. Hence my original question. Thanks Andy.
We are running dual 11000mah 5s from maxamps in parallel but just got the 10900mah 5S. Apparently the 10900's are working better for HL's. We fly a Skyjib8 V2. I'll post results at the end of the week.
