Upgrading the CS Mount Finally received the last bracket. So it is sort of finished! First thing i did back in march 2012 when flying/testing Red cam's, was removing the dampers and replaced it with a hard mounted connection. 3 mnd a go it got replaced with this 3mm plate. Fitting directly under the copter with some 1.6cm spacers. See images Xtra 4mm screw connection Copter/mount > Just for safety Backplate > 1mm Alu plate Tilt-mount > http://www.quadrocopter.com/Dual-Bearing-Tilt-Mount_p_706.html Boom-connectors > Main & Side > Added xtra clips (5 sets) Long tilt arms Packed all cables Total w.o. Copter/Lipo/Cam = 1857gr Last issue is the central hub. Its bends on every normal landing. I really hope the new alu clips solves this. All very easy to change and really happy with the results. Only wish for a Direct drive system! Thijm >TFCM
Interesting. I'm curious about torque with these smaller DD systems. I think it's ABSOLUTELY exciting to think that maybe in just a year or two we'll have many DD systems available for different size camera/lens combos. Am I being overly optimistic??? I mean the thought of producing almost perfectly stable footage every time...wow
We are just in the process of adapting the CS gimbal to direct drive. First goal: ZenMuse performance with a small DSLR ETA: 4-6 weeks Stay tuned Solon
2 axises first. Maybe 3, but later; pan axis is not so important. We're developing our own electronics, since a Radian can't be used. Gimbal will become heavier by at least 500g and will have to be setup for every camera/lens combination. Solon
An upgrade would also be possible. But we are a small company and can't offer support on a massive scale. So you would get parts and some pictures/videos... But it's vapourware at the moment anyway.
