Hey Guys, Curious if anyone out there reccomends a hoverboard or segway for Movi Pro Operating? I have a long tracking shot that requires me to move a little faster and smoother than my feet but might be perfectly flat something I belive this would be a good choice for.
As from Hoverboard, here is one recommendation; Asiwo All Terrain Hoverboard, The all terrain hoverboard has 400W Dual Motors that help it climb slopes as steep as 15 degree and last over 2 hour and over 15mile range on a single charge. All-terrain design let’s you easily travel over puddles, sand, dirt, and grass. * UL2272 Certified *8.5” inch All-terrain Tires and Alloy Wheels *Bluetooth Speaker *Aluminum Alloy Body Frame Assures Durability *Battery: LG 18650 5C 36V/4.3Ah

OneWheel. Undoubtedly the best purchase I’ve ever made. I ride it every day and the big, cushy tire can told smooth on pavement, grass, gravel, sand, I even go trail riding. Takes a day of practice to get decent.
Hey Dylan, The One Wheel is really nice. Is it an issue be oriented like a skateboard instead of the forward facing hoverboard setup?
If you’re doing it all solo, ie majestic mode you might have some minor limitations - which could overcome with practice, like a shot where you need to cross to your off-side, but if you’ve a remote operator I don’t see any issue. The cushy tire is a big deal. I roll over cobble stones in downtown NYC, Not all boards can handle that.. right into grass, no prob. Beach, trails, anything.
I use the Segway Mini Pro on almost all of my shoots, its a game changer. As you get better with the segway you can do some very slow controlled shots, or as fast as someone running. Mix in the swivel bar from cinemilled and a readyrig gs and you can get movement that will blow your clients away.
I'm another Segway MiniPro user. It's great. Hover Boards are a lot more dangerous and unstable. If you can ski you can ride a MiniPro. I've even added handlebars and rigged up an isolation mount for them with a quick connect.
