Bought a used CS8 frame on RC Groups and I was pretty shocked to see what I got.
Since I have a CS6 frame that I bought from QC I have something to compare it to.

Looking at the surface, I can see many pock marks and voids in the CF plate itself, which also has a rough surface, not like the smooth surface of the CS6. The cutting is very rough and has spots where the bit went too far. It almost looks like there is fiberglass between the top and bottom of the plates. The quality is obviously much worse than the CS6 frame I have. This frame is supposedly a year old, but my CS6 frame is from March, so not that much younger.

Is there any quality difference from the older ones?

This guy is also selling 1000mm octo frames with the same specs and design as the CS8. That was a big uh oh. I didn't see this till after I bought it.

Will post pics in a min.

That's what I thought for a second, but they were just tightened with a crappy allen wrench. (probably a fake too! :)) Or a Std instead of metric.

They're most likely selling all their gear because they find it difficult to make good videos due to lack of style and creativity;)

The seller is attesting that it is a real frame and that I am some kind of hired hand to bring down any competitors to QC. I wish QC was paying me! The fact remains that they appear to be selling direct copies on their site.

    Hello,
We have contacted this site's admin and expressed our discontent. Skykopter.com is not an authorized dealer for CineStar.
    Greetings,

Can you say by these pictures, that it is definitely not a cinestar frame?

I am not an expert in carbon, but from your pictures it seems clear that's is a bad copy of CS8 Frame. The most, CS6/8 have not Torx screws, but Allen screws... The frame is made of very poor sandwich carbon quality.
    It's clearly a Scam...!!!

So he has now changed the picture of the top plate on his website to show the bottom plate, which is slightly different than the CS one. Luckily, I was able to find the cached version and have a printout of both. A very suspicious move.

Did the CS ever come with this part on the bottom of the motor mounts?
If not, this is the smoking gun, obviously made from the same material as the rest.

Hey guys, we will be in touch with Skycopter. I can't say for sure where this frame comes from, it does not look like ours.

Yes they did originally come with "dog bones" on the motor mounts. I bought one of the first cinestar 6s and I picked it up at Quadrocopter so I know it was authentic. I still use those "dog bones" with my motor mounts. They used to have all 40mm bolts but after they got rid of the dog bones they started using 35mm and 40mm I think. Also, your first pictures look just like mine is and it has held up great. My guess is you bought an early cinestar, used. When you are looking to get the real thing at a discount, what did you expect! Kick down for a new one or deal with the used one!!

    Cheers, Tucker

Yes, I did find some pictures of an early CS6 with those dog bones, BUT the pressnuts were installed into them and the bolts went down through the motor plate, the opposite of my picture. What do yours look like?
