Found this small Hd Lcd monitor/recorder that is quite well working with my current iftron and Immersion Transmitters. You easily mount this on your Gimbal transmitter or give it to the director as xtra monitor. It can record the live video stream on micro sd up to 32gb!! Internal Lipo > 5v mini-usb Best of all it only cost €135,- http://shop.righthere.nu/fpv-lcd-di...less-mini-dvr-lawmate-airwaves/prod_1498.html Other frequencies http://shop.righthere.nu/fpv-lcd-di...reless-mini-dvr-beyond-5-8ghz-/prod_1484.html Tomorrow i will upload some actual pic's Thijm/Tfcm
Thijm interesting concept. Good price. But the brightness would be a concern outdoors. Specs say 200 cd/m and may disappoint in sunlight.
Gary brings up a point... how does it work outside? This looks like a really cool deal though! May have to pick one up. Josh
Hi Gary, Indeed in direct sunlight it gets a bit more difficult to see a clear image. Think its because the voltage. But there are very easy solutions for that. I use it very often when testing the day before shooting. We always test the whole system > Cam/copter/video etc. Now I do not have to setup the whole ground station. Also nice to give the pilot (me) > actual image! Thijm/Tfcm @ Josh Tomorrow on set, will take some pics. Lets hope with sunlight Edit; Also have to do a proper range test!
So cool, this little dandy records remotely. Could be very useful when you want to view ALL of your captured footage and scan some of those tricky shots back at the hotel when shooting with client supplied cameras and data cards. On a couple of occasions we were forced to use client supplied equipment and had to wait months before seeing any of our handy work in the final edit.
We always ask for a backup of the footage shot on clients cameras. This way if they have something bad happen they have an off-site backup of everything. It goes over nicely with them. Josh
Yeah, some of the really big high profile jobs the client must have full ownership of the footage. Obviously with these jobs the client will be well prepared to backup and back up the backup onsite. Smaller jobs, no prob for us to have copies immediately.
The only feature I can see missing that would be useful is a video output -- so you can feed the downlinked video into this, and out a video out port, so that if the signal gets week, the DVR regenerates the sync signal and the monitor sees noise but doesn't revert to blue screen. (The FPV Japan has this feature.) Other than that, though, it looks pretty good. Andy
Good enough for me and for what I'd use it for. It comes with that snazzy case...cool! Thanks for sharing. How's the battery life?
Search the web for 5-inch HD Portable Wireless Mini DVR. Saw them for $134 USD with free shipping on a quick search.
No Snazzy case Supplied > Peli 1020 micro case Nice! Only check the correct frequencies I my case i have a valid Vat number so it's 21% less Thijm/Tfcm
Found a lower price > $109.90 http://www.foxoffer.com/2012-latest-5-inch-hd-portable-24g-58g-wireless-mini-dvr-p-119.html Select group D for iftron/Immersion. Don't know if this is allowed? some more readers/user info http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1771836
Don't know if what is allowed? You mean links to other fora (sorry, I studied Latin)?? Sure. Of course. Why not? In discussion with Tabb, it's clear that he (and I) are adamant about keeping this forum professional and providing useful information to forum members and visitors. Links to other web sites, fora, on-line stores, etc. are all part of that, Thijm, so no need to be concerned.
It gets better and better, port for external (high gain) ant. It's also mentioned that it is now 400cd/m2.
Interesting. Waiting to see some videos posted, both of the screen in daylight and also the recording side. Nothing over on RCG yet.
