Currently running 2 RedRock Micro Torque motors for Focus + Zoom. Everything is updated to the latest firmware (MoVI Pro + MoVI Controller + Mimic). I can get everything to calibrate nicely, but the minute I try to save settings in FIZ Cnfig. on the MoVI Controller, I get a message saying "NO WEDGE CONNECTED" and everything stops working in terms of FIZ. To fix it, I need to power cycle everything, unplug and reset cables, reset lens, mess with torque & speed in FIZ Cnfig so that the motors don't FAULT and re calibrate them. I need to do this a couple times before I can get everything working again. The first few times, the zoom motor just moves in and out, but won't reach any end of the lens. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Same, open a support ticket and let me know what happens. I've been trying to get a solution for this for 2 months and they haven't provided me with any solution. I've even sent it in and it they said it's working fine and get it back and it does the same thing. Also, I can't actually get a calibration with Focus at all. Tried 2 different motors.
Does the new Beta Firmware 1.2.5 that came out yesterday help this issue? It says BUGFIX: FIZ settings wouldn't save properly in earlier versions of the TSU firmware.
Can you post version numbers please: MōVI Pro subcomponent versions can be found on MōVI Pro screen under Monitor>Details>Versions.
Thanks. Some questions I can think of.. Do you have a MōVI Controller? Can you post your lens setup? How much friction is on the lens do you think from 1-5? Is it always the same fiz port that is calibrating/not calibrating? Does swapping motors on that port make that motor work?
Hey Deniz, +Yes I do have the MoVI Controller -- FW: 3.0.1 +I've tried on a Canon L 24-105 as well as a couple Rokinon EF Primes +2-3 for Friction? +Unfortunately not. Today, I can get Focus to work. The other day I had both Focus and Zoom working. On our shoot on Thursday, I couldn't get anything to work. +Changing the motors/cables/ports does nothing. Sent back our MoVI Pro less than a month ago for a separate issue as well. Not sure if the Wedge would have been checked over as well. Thanks
On our shoot on Thursday, I couldn't get anything to work. Was this same fw set? Do you remember at all what the versions were? Are both motors Redrock Torque? Do the motors move at all after starting calibration? Do they move without a lens?
+RE Thursday shoot...the FW set was whatever was right before the one that came out on Friday (TSU V1.3.1). +Both motors are Redrock Torque +Focus Motor will currently move (as of the past 10 minutes.) I have had the issue where instead of calibrating, it will just move a tiny bit. As for the other motor, it just keeps faulting.
+Torque settings - I cycle through randomly until I can get the motors to not fault. That's a quick fix I found on a thread and works sometimes...
Something to try: select the motor type for each axis, save settings, then load settings from wedge/fiz axis config screen..
Have you done "Reset" in Wedge Main? That clears faults and lets you calibrate. Did you get all faults even after doing that?
"Still having issues with 2 motors at once. At least one always seems to fault. Sometimes I can get Focus to work, but not Iris or Zoom." Has it always been Focus that is working?
Mine is still not calibrating. I've gotten it very rarely to calibrate though, 1 in 50 times. MoVI Pro FIZ isn't reliable for real work yet though I'm afraid.
Hi...i am a new user here. I want to know do you have a MōVI Controller? How much friction is on the lens do you think from 1-5? Is it always the same fiz port that is calibrating/not calibrating? Does swapping motors on that port make that motor work?
