Hi, I'd love to see if anyone would share their Movi rigging tips. I'm trying to imagine a few solutions to mounting the Movi onto things like cranes, bicycles, car mounts, etc. Obviously the Ninja Star and Toad system would form the basis for a lot of these. How are you guys adapting the Movi onto a Mitchell Mount? Do you attach the Ninja Star to something like this? http://cinemilled.com/shop/mitchell-threaded-collar-and-castle-nut/ And then put a Toad Male on the Ninja Star? Is there a simpler solution that just uses a large flat washer and tie-down? And how do you attach the Movi to Speed Rail? With Cheese plates? Maybe using something like this: http://modernstudio.com/product/flat-plate-double-grid-clamp/ and this for rigging to thinner 5/8": http://modernstudio.com/product/58-fitting-receiver-plate-horizontal/ Is there anything you guys keep in your kits that you find useful for adapting the Movi to standard Grip and Camera equipment? I'd love to see photos if you're willing to share. Thanks very much, -Graham
I'm not sure you will find this helpful, but here are some pictures of me operating off the side of a golf cart using the Movcam stabilizer arms (which helps absorb the Y-axis). The M15 is attached to the toad in the hole which is attached to the stabilizer arms. Operated remotely and attached via 1.25" speedrail and a handful of joiners, corners, horizontal/vertical speedrail flanges. Very simple. Or for switching on/off movi setups, we just came out with a Movi Tripod Adapter that adapts your current setups to a tripod head. This just came out yesterday at www.1A-Tools.com I've attached pictures of both.
