Hi guys Sorry if this has been covered already in another thread, but I'd like to discuss an issue I'm having with my M15. I changed the mode from handheld to airborne so that I can use it on my ALTA - with the option of selecting magestic mode so that the gimbal can be locked for take off and landing. However, whenever I select magestic mode for this, the gimbal starts to violently oscillate. The stiffness settings are how I want them for dual operator mode - are they too high do you think? Thanks Chris
Chris: By definition, if you are getting oscillations, then the stiffness settings are too high. There are several threads on using the MōVI airborne, as I recall: for example: http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/aerial-mimic.6758/#post-62289 Hope this helps. Andy.
Hi Chris. Is it oscillating when your on the ground in airborne majestic? If so, thats normal. It should go away ones you take off and switch to dual operator mode. Hope that helps Even
Chris, you should do the gain settings while hanging the Alta/MoVI combo. Once you have it sitting on the ground if you were to put it in Majestic mode it might vibrate like it is mis-tuned since it is sitting on the ground and not suspended form the Alta. Put it in kill mode and once in the air switch to majestic.
Thanks for the response guys. From what I understand it seems that I should just ignore the vibration when it's on the ground? Gary, I adjust the gain settings when the Movi is hanging off the c-stand arms, then I transfer it to the ground/ALTA when it's ready. Is this what you meant? Thanks
Chris, yes exactly. If you go to majestic while sitting on the ground in addition to getting the jitters the flight deck will start spinning from the pan moron since there is no resistance.
