I no longer have a Tomahawk (I traded in for a Connex)

Now you've got my full attention - and what kind of results are you seeing? How does the Connex perform relative to the Paralinx Tomahawk?

The Connex has worked as advertised for me. I haven't run into any range issues yet and I've had it out to approximately 300 meters. There is no hd-sdi only hdmi so that maybe a negative if you do live tv (I know the truck generally prefers uncompressed sdi) and the air unit does have a fan on it which is just a little too loud for recording dialog when doing handheld work. I haven't tried recording the output from the connex on the ground but I would guess that it works but the Tomahawk is probably the better choice for that.

Looking to move the Wedge's antenna to a more optimal position out of the way of the MoVi Pan bar when facing backwards.

What cable would I need to get to move the antenna and is there a better antenna available to increase the range/reliability?

Hi Ozkan, did you use the supplied antenna that came with this booster or just reuse your MoVi Controller antenna?
The one that comes with the booster looks really plastic and cheap.

Yes I use the antenna supplied with the amplifier. You can change it with a better 5 or 9 dbi antenna if you have one.

Just never have the amplifier powered up when disconnect the antenna -- otherwise you will have an ex-amplifier.

Supplied antennae work great for both our Movi Controller boosters.

The antenna with the Sunhans says that is a 6dbi.

If I can get a working Spectrum Analyzer from Amazon (the first was DOA), I'll do some measurements out in a radio-quiet field and try and get some actual data on this. Oh...and if the weather is such that I don't mind standing out in the middle of field!

From your experience with the boosters, is it safe to operate them whilst your pilot is controlling the UAV? Can such a powerful 2.4gGHzbooster interfere with 2.4Ghz flight transmitter, or is it pretty safe?

We been using the booster for half a year now, and it works really well. I did a test with the controller + booster and a Phantom2. Flew the P2 around 400 meters away while holding the Movi controller and the P2 controller as close as possible to each other. No failsafe. Couple of weeks ago I had our Alta 500 m out while still having good signal quality on both the Alta and the Movi. Using Futaba 14SG and Movi controller w/booster. I have also replaced the antenna on the Movi Rx with a longer 2.4 Ghz antenna, so I could fasten the antenna out on the rear landing leg. If your in a "crowded 2,4 Ghz area" with lots of wifi and other signals it might be an issue, but I do most of my flying and Movi work out in the nature.

Nice - how did you do that Even? Can you share your setup and photos, please?

And I would concur with Even - no problems with the booster interfering with the flight radio.

Derek, I replaced the antenna with a standard Futaba 2.4 Ghz FASST antenna. I bought it from the Norwegian Freefly distributor. Tried to find it online for you, but it was not easy. Something like this: http://www.t9hobbysport.com/futaba-fasst-receiver-2.4ghz-400mm-extended-antenna .400mm is what I use. Here`s a couple of photos, I did it on both our M10 and M15. On the M15 I put it in a plastic tube.

    Hey Even,
I assume that the receiver uses that small brass plug that is normally mounted to these replacement antennas?
So with that antenna you bought it was a plug and play setup?

Yes, switching antennas is plug and play. Just open up the receiver, unplug the old one and plug in the new.
