Hello, I've been out on MOVI jobs a few times but don't know the MOVI10 in total detail. One thing I've noticed is that the MOVI that I use pans very very in majestic mode. So, if I have the camera set up in majestic mode, and leave it for 20 minutes, it will drift a few inches to the side. My controller seems to be neutral and I have reset/defaulted the system a few times, in hope that it would stop. It might well be a trivial fix, Any ideas?
I think you don´t have any drifting. What I think you have is normal. You probably have a x degree deadband when panning so when it rests on the stand it will move to one of the sides but when you hold it it is already centered.
I had a job recently where we mounted the MOVI to the ceiling and I used the controller to aim the camera down so that we had a bird-eyes-view shot. I left the MOVI in the controller mode, and every time we went for a new take, I had to straighten the camera up so that it aligned with the original frame.
Charles that would in the GUI. Also if you are using the DX8 make sure that the trim setting (rocker) is at the center 0 setting. If not it will slowly pan the gimbal.
lol i realized that my left joystick whicb controls the pan speed control is also controlling the pan (very slowly)! How do I get rid of this pan control on the left joystick!
i have been messing around with that , that doesn't stop the left stick from controlling the speed of the pan , plus control the pan (very slowly) left or right. Example when I set the stick to the up position it pans left and down position it pans right . during this time the right stick is free and not used.
Charles - I infer you're using a Spektrum transmitter? (Apologies if I have overlooked something you've written above). Can you verify what's happening by looking at the Servo Monitor window on the transmitter -- it will show you what signals on which channels the transmitter is sending. That will help identify whether the issue is in the transmitter settings or not. To get to the Servo Setup screen, press the right-hand thumbwheel down once, scroll right one click, and press the thumbwheel again. If you move the left-hand stick carefully backwards and forwards you should only see left-right movement on the top (THR) channel. Are you seeing any other channels moving? Specifically, do you see any left/right motion on the second channel (AIL). Thanks Andy
Hmmm. I'm completely puzzled, Charles. The evidence suggests that somehow Channel 1 (THR) is exerting an influence over Channel 2, yet you're not seeing that on the Servo Monitor window -- which suggests that it's happening in the MōVI.... I think you're going to have to open up a support ticket at support@freeflysystems.com and include a link to this thread so that the folks don't make you repeat your experiments. Wish I could be of more help. Andy
i am already on email with the freefly folks. will post the findings on this thread This problem is very frustrating...
i messed around with the stiffness and all of a sudden the drifting has stopped! Don't understand the reasons for this
In the world of computer software this is known either as a "feature" or "magic." Glad you fixed it. What stiffness setting did you end up using? Andy.
