Hi there We're a film crew from Amsterdam, shooting in Bolivia Uyuni in 2 weeks. In Bolivia we found a hexacopter + operator, with this unit: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jzn73xmvi9m01u9/AABhZTphfzPMBwvfnngJsdBPa?dl=0 We want to fly a GH4 and match it with our RED Dragon (Zeiss primes) material. Questions: - Second opinion; can a hexacopter like this lift a gh4? - What are the best lenses within this context? - Is it wise to have the owner of this hexacopter operate the copter and have my DP operatie the 2 axis Gimble at the same time? - The location is 3600m above sea level, who has experience with this altitude and aerial shooting? Would love to know all about it: ruben@westframe.com
1. Yes hexacopter can lift a GH4, but you might need a more powerful copter a 3600m ASL. It has to be modelled in ecalc to see the power loss. 2. We are using various lenses like Zuiko 12mm f2.0 and Rokinon 12mm T2.2, they all work fine. 3. If you need to get good shots, you need a three axis brushless gimbal.
Ozkan, cool info thanks. Could you get any info from your experience, looking at these images? https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jzn73xmvi9m01u9/AABhZTphfzPMBwvfnngJsdBPa?dl=0 Can it handle a GH4? What about the gimble, is it 3 axis?
Ruben, I checked those photos and that's a 2-axis gimbal. I'm not sure what motors and configuration he uses but, that copter can lift GH4 but, not sure if it can at 3600m ASL. Why don't you hire someone in Netherlands and the them with you?
Yeah Ozkan, we made the decision to work with a stable crew from Miami http://www.miamiaerial.com Good learning process... The Bolivian film industry apperently is under developed on some respects.
i have an hexacopter with tiger 4014 330kv, slowflys 14x4.3, WKM, brushless gimbal with GH4 here in Peru.. i did a job last month for Nat Geo at 5000 m above sea level....Huascaran Peak mountain thats my record here flying,...dual 6S 6000 nanotechs,... the copter flew perfect, flight tme off course was short.... didn't change any settings, didn't do anything to the copter... daniel
