I am currently on FC HW:2.2 SW:0.90j + NC HW:2.0 SW:0.30h (other details in signature). I have held off updating and wondering if any other Hex owners have gone to 2.06 with the same hardware as mine. If so, what are issues?

I also run with 2.06f without any issues.

Colin, I believe the GPS position hold improvements are worthwhile, and the upgraded altitude sensor works better with the latest firmware revisions, too. Although I have never used MK on a hex, I believe many are using the latest firmwares, especially if you read the German posts on the MK forum.

Thanks Ozkan and Mr. UAV Grief Counselor. I had a near perilous death after going to 2.00a so I reverted back. I hope the wait was worthwhile. Now I just need to find two hours in my schedule to do this...

    Hello Colin,

We have updated to 2.06f on multiple models. There hasn't been any reported issues with 2.06.

    Greetings,
    Adam

As with most firmware upgrades, make sure to record all your settings (including RC channels) because the upgrade will wipe them out. I usually just do screen shots of all the tabs in MK_TOOL. And erase the SD card from the Navi, too, to reset the settings that are on it (if there are...can't honestly remember).

The only thing you need to erase on the NC's microSD card is the file SETTINGS.INI. The upgraded firmware will recreate it.

Thanks. I'll give this a try but now have to wait until solar storm effects are over :(

BTW - at some point I am considering conversion to the new boards. I came across this one done by Thiago Kraus where he kept the stock booms. Good or bad idea?

It all depends on your goals. The CS6 is a solid platform, albeit limited in lift capacity. I'm a fan of the octo vs. hex because of the added redundancy. If you're going to go for the BL3 6S setup, you will want to weight that against a full-on new octo.

Makes sense. I'll go with software upgrade first with some tuning help from The UAV Garage ;)
