Hi everybody, hope this is not too stupid.... Can anybody explain the differences between the airborne and handheld setting? I was wondering why i get oscillations when switching from handheld to airborn. Thanks Norbert
Hi I am not professional...but most of the handheld doesn't fit to air. I think probably is because that the moving of body is different from drones... Looking forward to more professional answers.
Norbert the main difference is the way that the remote operates when switching with the mode switch. Gimbal Application - Configures the gimbal for either Handheld or Airborne use. In Handheld use, the center position of the Dual Operator Mode Switch enables Pan Majestic operation. In Airborne use, the center position of the Dual Operator Mode Switch parks the Gimbal for takeoff and landing. Other wise it is the same.
Are you running it on a copter or carrying it around? The behavior of majestic mode is quit a bit different. What are your settings and what camera package are on yours?
Gary, thank you (and excuse me for not beeing able to read the manual). Shame on me. Now i can see! Steve, a few weeks ago i noticed heavy oscillations in airborne mode which i did not have had in handheld. I think it was while having a small and lightweight camera in the Mõvi. Flying the Epic, i dont't have this problem. Thanks guys Norbert
Norbert just make sure when you fly that you adjust the gains while suspending the copter/gimbal in the air. That is the best way to get the gains adjusted for the flight regime.
Christina perhaps you can describe how you plan to use a gimbal? What types of filming, production or output you are looking for. Maybe that would help the forum better answer your questions. To see a MoVI hands on maybe one of the MoVI distributors listed at http://www.freeflysystems.com/distributors.php would be close to where you live.
Hi Gary! How do you know I am looking for one gimbal???that is awesome!!lol I currently work as a wedding(or some small events) cinematographer. I have a red epic and 5D mark III. After searching for some results, I have my eye on Movi M10 and DJI Ronin. The latter is not on yet but seems price is much lower...
