I am so disappointed in the screen display lag (EVF and LCD) when shooting 4K with this camera. It makes it almost unusable for aerial work in 4K.
James, with all due respect, it's a $1600 camera, and something of a miracle that it can shoot and record 4K at all. Expecting RED-like performance at 1/20 the cost of a RED is unrealistic. I don't see an intolerable lag with what I've done, but maybe my expectations are lower.
Aieee...sorry...I just realized....Stefanie....not Stephanie. Mea culpa! No luck yet on finding anybody in my neck of the woods about to make the trek to Blighty.... Andy
Can you explain this in detail please? I can't see any lag and I'm not having any problems for aerial 4K.
Is it not possible to record in 24p and get live feed? A buddy has the camera and says it will only work with downlink when using 30p?
With my GH4 I get 24P, 30P and 60P, as well as 1080, UHD and 4K (spotty) into my crappy white box Amazon frankenstein'd converter and through my 1.3gHz TX.
Hi all: There is a problem with the HDMI out from the GH4. It just outputs 1080p and most converters only do i. However Panasonic says they are working on that so people get the right signal from the down converted 4K. I use mine with a HDMI to composite converter any will do. They all accept i and p and output in PAL or NTSC. The only other way of doing it is setting the camera to AVCHD which doesn´t allow to record 4K. Just wait and Panasonic will solve it.
Hi: Mine works too but there will be no need to convert it soon . I had other converters so I didn´t get any from kopterwork....but then I didn´t have access to a micro HDMI cable and the adapters were out of the question so I bought the whole package from them.
Do you mean that Panasonic will output live composite video directly from the GH4? Who told you this? I'd be surprised if they could do that with a firmware update. But that would be awesome!
No. I mean the HDMI will be compatible with monitors and recorders when the output is 1080p downconverted fro the 4k.
Steve I have his copter here and gh4. It will play everything fine except the picture is just black screen with colored lines on it when trying to shoot in 24p, 1080 or 4k...every other mode works and frame rate. Also if i turn off the down convert in the menu, the picture is way too big on the monitor but it will show 4k 24p but still won't show me 1080 24p. What converter box do you have exactly? I am going to radioshack now to get a standard hdmi to mini adapter so i can try it with my freefly converter and his monitor.
Steve Small HD is not the reference. What people want is to send the HDMI to an external recorder or downlink which doesn´t accept the signal from the GH4. The only way I managed to record internally 4K and display the output to be converted to video was to pass it through a converter http://www.buzzflyer.co.uk/product....&strPageHistory=search&numSearchStartRecord=1 or http://kopterworx.com/zenmuse-gh4-hdmi-to-av-converter-mini-micro-hdmi-thin-soft-cable.html watch this
