These just came in today. Stiffer then the red o-rings. Should be a nice option for those flying heavier cameras. The Red will be softest, blue are medium, and black will be the hardest. They will be getting out to resellers shortly....
Hi Tabb: Do you plan that resellers will sell just the rings or vibration isolator kits with the varying colored rings? I would imagine that swapping out the rings will be a bit tedious in the field, so swapping the entire VI's would be the way to go. Andy.
I agree. It would be much better. But I'm not sure that it's quite that simple. From what I've been reading of the posts on this forum, temperature, and the camera/gimbal/copter configuration seems to play a role in the choice of how many rings people are using -- and that was before we had the choice of the ring stiffness. Andy.
PaNt, I think it is time you holster that exclamation mark.... I will work on some recommended settings....it isn't quite that simple though as temperature changes the isolation properties drastically.
An exclamation mark, when you use it frequently, makes you seem angry and rude -- and I'm pretty sure you don't mean to be. Andy.
I think the problem is that people, when all they see are written postings with angry faces and exclamation marks are forming an incorrect impression of you. In American slang, Tabb's use of "holster" means "put your gun (the exclamation marks and angry faces) away please -- there's no need to shoot anyone on this forum -- we're all trying to figure things out by helping each other." Hope this helps. Andy.
its ok.... i dont have a problem with someone..Thats how i post... I dont shoot anyone... As i wrote before its a Habbit nothing else..
And will they be available as individual colors/stiffness, a kit consisting of all the color/stiffness or bundle w the CF mounts by the way changing them in the field to me doesn't take too long we could save some $ if we could only buy the O ring sets
JLO: Valid point. I'm rather hoping we can buy them both individually and as entire vibration isolator kits. I'd like to be able to swap out the vibration isolators on location by replacing the whole unit with one already loaded with reds/blues or blacks so that I don't have a DP breathing down my neck while I fumble with rings and dogbones.... Andy.
Good ideas! I will look at offering different bundles. Ideally the only time you need to change isolation would be EXTREME temp changes or a big difference in payloads. Tabb
Guys the Blue are in stock in Quadrocopter.. Did you tried them?? And whats the weight of your gimbal that you tried them?? Thx
I agree with you Andy, Is much better just to swap the whole isolator than just the O-rings. But at that price? If you fly an octo you will need 12 of them. The isolators worth more than the copter
Well, the other option would be just to have one spare set of isolators so you can "pre-load" them with what think you might need for that day's shoot. That would only need four VI's. Beats 12. Andy.
Tabb, Great new product. Right now in the winter desert, we have day temps of 50-60Celcius. But in the summer it is 90-110celcius. I'm curious about your comment about temperature being factor. I'm using red now. Would you anticipate blue or black then for the hot summer temps? Is this because the heat softens the rings? Have you or anyone tested the new springs in these higher temps? Thanks! Phil
