Nice one Bill! Has anyone ever tried the GB100 for pan? I've just installed the belt drive, and i don't really like it. My sliprings don't fit inte the shaft, i have no "holes" on top to connect the video signal to the drone etc... And i'm building a heavy lifter, i wouldn't have problems with the additional weight. Using a GB100 (+130g compared to the 8017) with 5s LiPo, without the belt system wouldn't even be that much heavier... Anyone tried this?
I use the GB-100 on the pan for a handheld rig. And GB-85 on a aerial rig. I don't really know how the GB-100 will handle the pan on an aerial platform. I know the GB-85 works. Bill
up to what weight did it work for you? My Gimbal is about 5.8kg (including the pan motor itself and legs) And how is the GB100 on the handheld? Is it really that strong?
The 100 works well but, there's no cages for the 100. I had to extend the GB-85 cage legs in order to make it fit.
Wow, Bill. That's not a brushless motor powered gimbal so much as it is a honking great motor with a wimpy gimbal attached for the ride. Andy.
Cool Bill! Thx for that image.... I'll use the bearing and shaft from the normal GB85 motor cage and draw & mill a new cage in the standard 3 leg design for the GB100.... Would you mind sharing the PIDs u use for a gimbal (at arout 5.5-6kg)? With 42 poles i end up with values lower than 6 for P.....

No, it's not possible.... Every motor needs a "driver", normally an ESC, on BLGs the Alexmos does this job. The reciever can't power a motor, and even if it could, it wouldn't know the gimbal's attitude.

Hi guys, I posted this on the Alexmos 8 bit forum on rc groups as well, hopefully some one here can help. Im having issues tuning my roll axis, pan and tilt are great, but i can't seem to get rid of the wobble in roll. Im using a cinestar 3 axis converted to brushless carrying a gh3 with ilfight 5108 motors on pitch and roll. Here is a sample video filmed last night, it was windy gusting 30km or so. But it does the same thing on a calm day when you flight with a bit of speed. The settings for roll are: P: 35 I:0.1 D:28 & Power:170 Im running 2.4b6 firm wear. I tried lowering the PIDs to P:25 I:0.9 D:25, Which seemed to make it worse. Any ideas? Im not sure if this is classed as a low speed oscillation or a high speed one?
Hi Ryan, I saw your post on RCG. Like many are saying drop to 2.3 is more stable I think they made some changes to accommodate the new IMU's and that don't work. I am using the 2.35b and I have no issues. Like the DJI firmware I stick with the 5.16 and is rock solid. Bill

First of try to invert the motor for the roll and see what it does. If that don't work, disconnect the yaw and tilt motors from the controller. Set the roll PID's to default and go up from there. I hope this helps Bill
Hello Everyone, Hopefully someone can help with the slight issue I am having. I have set up my brushless gimbal conversion with the Alexmos Control board. I have control over the pitch but I do not have control over the yaw axis. It seems like it is stuck in follow mode even though I have it disabled in the settings. I have attached some pictures of my settings ( I am still working on the PID settings so please ignore those). I feel like it is something simple but would appreciate any feedback. Our current GUI version is 2.40b6 and we are currently flying a GH3 with a 14-140 MM Thanks, Stephan
I never managed to test on 2.3, I flipped on take off due to Super X, trying to work out what happened still. Any way the gimbal down tube broke, so il have to re vist it in a while after i get a replacement. I was wondering how is the 32 bit board going for aerial? Has any one got it working well with the two imu`s?
