Hi to all we do have m10 and looking for a more affordable option for our clients, but of course they all want to use ff what setup of camera and lens u are using with a ff, interested in 5d and black magic 4k if possible thanks
With 5D, the cheapest, lightest method is a USB follow focus device. Works great with AF lenses and the 5D MK III. I particularly recommend http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/854219-REG/Okii_FC1_FC1_USB_Focus_Controller.html but Manfrotto I believe makes one as well. There is also one made by Aputure but I ended up selling it. Never tried the Manfrotto one.
Guilherme, Check out the microRemote. It will allow you to pull focus on any lens/camera combination, from a DSLR to full cinema lenses. It's great because you can support clients who want a single operator mode via the Universal Fingerwheel, or a 2-3 person mode with the Wireless Handheld Unit that can communicate up to 1600m away.
Im buying an Okii and was just wondering what you use to mount it to the movi and type and length of cable you use?
I use mini-usb to usb cable (whatever plugs into the camera). There are various lengths and cables out there to choose from. The less stiff the cable, the better. To attach it to the Movi, I have a hot shoe ball mount like this http://store.smallhd.com/Store/AC7-LCD-Accessories/Hot-Shoe-Ball-Mount attached to the accessory mount http://store.freeflysystems.com/collections/movi-accessory/products/accessory-mount I believe the bottom of that hot shoe ball mount will take a 1/4-20 thread but I haven't tried that as I use Really Right Stuff flash bracket parts to quickly attach everything together. Specifically http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/s.nl/it.A/id.5212/.f is attached to the Okii http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/FA-QRCS2-Cold-shoe-for-RRS-flash-gear.html is attached to the ball mount and one of these http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/s.nl/it.A/id.7/.f is on the other end of the ball mount and attached to the FreeFly accessory mount. I keep meaning to post pictures and hope to soon but my day job keeps me busy. These Really Right Stuff parts are not necessary but I like the quick attach and detach they offer. I have quite a few of them of attaching microphones, Small HD monitors, ball mounts, small arms. It saves me from having to spend time screwing anything together. I can just snap most of it in place and be ready to go.
