Is there any news concerning the Sony F55 mounting problem ? Didn`t hear any about this topic for long, and working on a documentary in summer, where it would be great.

Im also keen to get hold of the mod to take the F55, I'm being asked about it a lot, and there are several other brands of stabiliser out there now that are already working with the F55 and are on jobs, so any news on this would be great.
    Thanks

    Mark

Hi Mark, nice to see, that I'm not the only one. As I ordered my M10 direct after the NAB2013, I would call me an early bird. I've seen that there was a thread before on that topic, and I would definitly have to know ASAP if there is some ongoing process on that, or if I would have to sell the Movi again, what would be very painful, cause I like it and nobody will spend the 10.000€ anymore. And one of the arguments not to go for a competitor was the suggested and promised skills of freefly to be ahead of the others. Feels right now like the opposite. Maybe we are not enough voices, working with the f55 and are not interesting for freefly ?

    Hi Marcus
Im pretty sure they are working on it, but I need it kind of yesterday at the moment as more and more productions are using that camera out of choice over the red, especially for the natural history work i do. But I now know of several other gimbal products that are good and taking f55's etc. Im very happy with the MoVI to be honest and the customer service I've always received from everyone there has been great, I just need the Mod pretty soon. To keep the MoVi the tool of choice over its competitors, especially considering the price difference between them.

Yes! Please find attached Photos...We didn't change a lot versus the Alexa M Modification, In fact it was a little bit easier.

You would still have to extend the left and right Bars to fit the F55. The good thing is that the Consumtion of the F55 is fairly low so we build a flexible, right Angle 4-Pin XLR Cable -> Power Tab. We also placed a a Power Tab Distribution beneath the middle handle to Power Camera, Monitor and Videolink.

All in all the Setup works fine.

This looks very promising...Where do you get the long bars?

    Hi Tov how are you?
They can't be bought- it's a user modifation ( voids warranty).
There's another thread here about it- tools needed include a blowtorch to melt the adhesive that permanently retains one of he arms (!)
New custom-made longer cabling to suit the longer arms is also required... It's quite a project.

    Hi Alexander.
Great job with the F55. Could you explain how you extend the motor cables?

That is an unmodified M10 right? It may just work... really want to try this.
