Hello everyone! My name is Chris, and I founded a not for profit called The Definition Of Sacrifice, which is dedicated to giving back to our nations combat veterans who so selflessly gave everything back for us. We do this by harnessing our creativity through the use of a camera to keep our veterans in the forefront of our nations minds through photo/video documentation and personal story. I've been facinated by remote controlled vehicles since I was a kid. My first build at age 9 was the Tamyia Grasshopper! I've built many on and off road vehciles over the years but never had anything that flew. Wanting to add some aerial perspective to my documentation for DOS I bought a DJI F450 with a Zenmuse gimbal to fly a GoPro a couple of months ago... Let's just say I'm hooked!!! A few days ago I scored a killer deal on a professionally built CS8 w/ 2 axis radian gimbal. Technology has changed so much since I was last into R/C, and I'm way behind the power curve, but I hope to learn a lot from all of you... Thanks in advance for your patience.
Hello, My Name is Kirk Bereska. I have been lucky enough to get my hands on the M10 for some snowboarding and skiing action. And recently was part of an amazing crew with some amazing tech to produce this ; happy to be a small part, of an amazing group of people. Looking forward to what the future will bring.
Agreed, I think it's there will be a lot of great shots to come in the future. looking forward to see what the actions sports genera will be able to do with this rig.
Hey, I'm Eoin, I work with the guys over at aerial filming Ireland as the remote camera operator. Just joined the forum, look forward to learning some info on our rigs here! Regards, Eoin.
My name is Dennis and my screen name is fotoden. I'm a commercial photographer in St. Louis. I'm interested into getting into aerial photography with RC. I eventually would like to invest in an HL Octocopter but thought entering with the DJI Phantom II with gimbal might be the way to enter and get my feet wet. Any help/ suggestions would be appreciated. Denise at FreeFly Systems said there were some pretty bright pilots out there that are willing to share their expertise. Thanks Denny/fotoden
Welcome, Denny. There’s a wealth of information here, as well as lots of videos to watch and stories to follow. Many of us (myself included) got into this because we’re photographers or film makers, so you’ll find a lot of kindred spirits. One suggestion before you start flying your Phantom is to invest in a flight sim program. Search the archives here for recommendations.

Hello all, My name is Wallace and I am a photographer/cinematographer. My company is a small one and I handle mostly local jobs for the budget minded consumer. I am looking for an affordable platform in which to take aerial photos primarily. Mostly because I have been offered a contract to take property photos locally using such a platform. Secondary purpose would be to use it to film aerial shots for the scenes in some of my cinematography projects and add unique footage to my wedding and event videos/pictures. Having said that, I am looking for advice on a new/used affordable platform or any advice from experienced persons that would be inclined to point me in the right direction. Thank you and much success to you all.
I was so eager to introduce myself that I forgot to mention the equipment I use that the platform would have to accommodate. I use Canon 5D MkIII's and 7D's. I use mostly Canon lenses and accessories. I have and use a GoPro but will not be using it for my aerial photos (otherwise I would have bought and ordered a Phantom months ago).
Matt Trub I have a Graupner MX 20 and getting an ERROR Receiver message. Have you run across this before?
Matt: Welcome to the Forum -- I'd copy and paste your posting and put it into the Electronics section of the forum -- and upload an image of the display on the MX-20. Also, you don't mention which receiver you are using and whether or not it has been bound to the transmitter -- is the light on the receiver green? Thanks Andy.
Hello everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I live in Weatherford, TX and have been flying for a while now. I have a new Cinestar 8 with a 3 axis gimbal. I have been flying a Phantom then moved up thru those to get proficient with the Multi-Rotor format. I love this stuff and have been shooting indoors for some big events for customers. I am the owner for HiDefAerial.com and have been around the video and photography business for about 25 years. This industry takes my business to the next level. I do have some issues with this new CS8 that I have to get clarified. I have had a shake on the video that I cant get rid of. I have been in contact with Quadrocopter numerous times about this issues.
