    Hey guys

What color o ring schedume do you recommend for a 10-11 pound payload? All black? 1/2 black, half blue?

I'm not sure I know the answer, Dave, but you need to factor in the ambient temperature as the elasticity of the rings changes with temperature.

Dave, I went all black in 8°C weather. And I had a lot of vibrations visible. I tried 4 black 2 blue at 8˘C and there were still vibrations.

Than I tried 4 blue, 2 black at -1°C, but I had vibrations from gimbals PIDS, so there was no perfect video either. But as far I checked the footage I think there was none vibrations from rings.

I would like to see your results.

Doesn't part of the answer depend on what type of gimbal you are running?

I have Cinestar brushless conversion, and I believe Dave also has CS style gimbal. But I think it really doesn't matter which gimbal you fit under the rubber O rings, as long as it is hard mounted without any extra dampeners it will have the same results with vibrations.

If you want to eliminate any vibrations at all in any weather get your self the wire dampening system.

I’ve seen this before, but other than Mario (who I think designed it), I haven’t seen anybody else here using that system. It could be because it’s 744€.

You are right Steve Mario is the designer. I installed them on three HL so far and I'm ready to do another.
You can add or remove wires according to the load and it works wonders. As far as the $$$ goes yes is a bit expensive.
But if my client is willing to spend the money why not.
The good thing about it is made for the Cinestar and the Kratos.

    @Steve
is 744 euro if you are in the EU union.
Is 615 euro anywhere else. So for North America is $838 USD

Bill, how do you know to either add or remove some wires to get this kind of system to work right? Is there a rule of thumb to go by?

Also, what about using the other version of wire rope isolator that Flexicopter makes? http://shop.flexacopter.com/lipo-box-wida-p-202.html Can you speak on that one too? The reason I ask is I'm not flying a cinestar anymore and the center plate I'm using is a completely new design and shape. So this other version is the only one I can find online that might work. But I'm still a bit skeptical if it can handle very different weight ranges because I need to be able to use a smaller gimbal with a GH3/GH4 setup and also a bigger gimbal with a Red Epic setup on the same airframe and would like to only buy one vibration isolator system. Any insight would be welcomed!

Taylor you have to be able to attach the standoffs from the isolator to your frame.
And you might have to drill holes for that. I don't know if this setup will handle the RED.
The isolator I use Mario recommends 6 wires per section.
If the payload is too light you might have to remove one or two wires.
On my setups I didn't have to remove anything as my clients use the RED all the time.

    Regards
    Bill

what plate are you using to mount your orings too? we are using the quadrocopter vibration isolation plate and it works ok but when the copter makes a quick correction you can see it transfer to the gimbal in the video.

Mine is working great and i have 8 vibration dampeners under my copter so that if the weather is cooler or hotter i can just rotate the star mount and use the other dampeners. I am currently using all blue with a 5d mark iii, when it is super cold ill use a special combo of red and blue :)
