A couple flights with the Cinestar 6 and a Radian stab board on the roll. I used the Sony CX760 at 1080 60P.

    Cheers,
    Jeff

Nice Shooting Jeff as usual. Is the Sony your new favorite camera...I thought you were a GH2man?
What post stablizer did you use?...if any...

Looks great, but I don't see much difference between that and your other videos :) I have been wondering about the function with the 2 axis. I suppose you keep the nick on the fc to keep control with the same radio and then lock the roll wired in to the radian so you keep a level horizon while yawing? Does it work this way with the 2 axis and 1 radio? This way you would only need one of the radian gyro/chips for the roll?

I am also curious about cameras. Are you done with the gh2 now that you have 1080 60p and zoom with the cx760.

    Cheers, Tucker

Awesome! Love the locked horizon Jeff ;)

I am going to take the 760 for a flight tomorrow.

Before I would have to drift the copter to keep the horizon level. Now it really doesn't matter where I'm going with the Radian on roll. I still have my GH2 for 720 60P work, but would rather use the 1080 60P on the Sony.

On my 2-axis setup I have the nick gyro plugged straight into the GR-16 receiver (MX20 setup) & then the roll gyro piggy backed off the nick to receive power. This way you can assign a rotary knob on the transmitter to control the nick from the receiver, the nick & roll axis will both be stabilised. I haven't tried this on a spektrum setup yet using satelites but im sure you could do the same using one of the servo outputs on the FC.

Thanks Harvey, I have my spektrum set up so that I can control nick from a nob. I am wondering if with the radian on the roll access I can still control the nick manually through my Dx8 and have the radian hold the manually adjusted roll value? If so I would use 2 for a 2 axis gimbal but if not I would just use one radian for the roll so as not to give up manual control of the nick. Hope that makes sense :-/

    Thanks, Tucker

    Harvey,
Is your gr16 for the 2 axis also the same that you use for the FC and is it also responsible for the voltage to the radians and servos?

    Cheers,
    Jeff

Hi Jeff, it was yes but now running out of the FC servo output 4 instead, what are your thoughts?

Holger mentioned that when the rx is powered by the 5v tabs from the FC that you should only run very low load accessories like shutter cables/ir controls etc (NO servos).

    Jeff

Thanks Jeff I wasn't aware of that, does this mean your OK running the radian directly from the FC servo output?

That should work, but in a perfect world I would use a bec for multiple servos/radians.

    Jeff

    No post stab was used.

Very smooth, Jeff. Flori looked he was having fun too. Were you flying single person with a 2- or 3-axis?

    Cheers
    Andy.

I found the shirt pocket the ideal place for the lawmate. I might drop down for a photo vest for this very reason :)

Andy - this was with a 2 axis gimbal. I don't think FPV would be possible with pan.

    Cheers,
    Jeff
