New DIY Brushless Gimbal For 5D Mk2

    Hi All
    This is my new gimbal.
    Pan motor have slip ring so I can use main battery for power.

    This prototype have green color, I like it ;)

    That’s cool. Do you have a 3D printer? Is that how you’re making those parts? Do you find that the ABS or PLA is strong enough to withstand the forces of a gimbal in flight?

    Yes, is 3D printed and I use PLA.
    Sure, is strong enough for 5D and much more.
    I think is better than my previous CF tube gimbal!
    I draw all the parts and printed with my own DIY 3d printer ;)

    Which printer do you use?

    I don't know.. in next days will define some details, and test it on fly (when stop raining here!!)
    My printer is similar to reprap prusa.

    Steve: Check out the "Up Plus 2" -- much less hassle than the Makerbot machines, based on my research.

    Nice, that looks extremely strong and rigid. Do you have any concern with PLA and motor heat during the summer months?

    Next test is to put everything in the oven at 70° C

    yes, Alexmos nnoard with 3rd expansion board.

    I reprinted all with ABS, now it support higher temperature.

    One more test:
    Now I think is perfect!

    Nice! I had my doubts about those PLA motor supports holding up against heat. Looks great.

    The motor are 3x iflight 5208 and 1 8017 for pan

    When well tuned the Alexmos is an awesome board.
