    Dave,
What props are you planning to use?
And I got the first PDB yesterday (which I’m sending back because I changed my mind and am getting the Double XL), and it had a one-wire servo lead coming off it. Does the Double have that? What’s it for?

Yes it does its for the lights and goes to the flight control board output 1 or 2. I'm starting out with the Xoar 15X5 props and will probably go with Tiger 15X5 CF's when I sort out my combination.

Can the Doble Quadro 2XL boards be separated or are they married for life

Based on what others have said (including Holger), the boards are just soldered in a few places, and theoretically could be separated.

To me it looks like quite a lot of work to seperate them but yes they can be seperated if you took enough time.

Hi Dave its just to know if its posible, on the same topic I guess the question extends the other way how easy or not is to join 2 single Quadro 2XL boards
    also
I wonder how are some that choose the Single BL-Ctrl V3.0 2XL are going to adapt them to their copters it would look like you just could wrap them in shrink tubing but the pads for the cables are on the side hmm??

Jose I don't think anyone has purcahsed seperate BL controllers and has tried to make them function as you would with one board. Lots of connections and possible timing issues of the I2C signal to deal with. It sounds like an interesting idea but I will certainly never put my copter in the air without a truly tested combination.

Plus you have various jumper wires that run from one board to the other that would need to be desoldered.

Depends on weather as its been brutely cold here. I have all the parts needed, I will probably have the basics assembled to get it up in the air to test hopefully by the end of the weekend.

Jose, I am also doing a HL update, although I’m upgrading a CS8 (as opposed to Dave, who’s starting from scratch).
I have almost all the parts now. Just waiting for bullet connectors. I’m going to commence my build next week. I’m documenting it in another thread.
So far I’m cool with what I’ve got, although if Freefly ship the Synapse next week I might be pissed. ;)

Thanks Dave and Steve and thanks for sharing
I'm in the decision of the kind of proven 4012 or the new U5
Mk new Bl3 or stay with individual Esc,s
Upgrade my existing CS8 or do a new build
    Decisions decisions
    Thanks

Update: I got the frame all assembled, motors mounted and connected, the Power board is mounted to the chassis with new nylon female nylon standoffs. Navigation and GPS board is mounted and wired up. I fired it up for the first time last night, I got a very nice chirp from all the motors along with the appropriate lights. I unplug the battery, I then mounted the brand new MK 2.5 FCB and connect the molex connector. Plug the battery back up and the FCB board is dead. No lights on it, no communication with MK tools, no buzzer working, nothing. Dead as a door nail. I didn't even connect the GR24 up yet as I like doing one thing at a time. The power board is fine, still chirps all the motors and I have all the lights. I double checked the molex connector connections and then even switched out the connector with a spare, no change.

Sorry to hear that Dave, does your previous FC power up? I've had three of the Mk2.5 boards without issue so hoping yours is a simple fix/exchange

Powering up that is ... Plenty of operator issues alon he way .... But I think that is what I should call education

Ah you underestimate me. I bought a 2nd board and having it Saturday delivery :D

ON a side note the FCB board is definitely getting power because I hooked up the PPM connector to the GR24 and its powering the GR24. There's just something in the board that's bad.

Ahh the joys of not having to order every component in from overseas and then wait 5 days for delivery, may the building continue ;)
