Hi guys. I have the Freefly HDMI converter rigged up for use with the NEX-5n. My buddy wants one to do fpv with his NEX-5r, but the Quadrocopter site doesn't linst the HDMI converter any more. Did they stop selling/supporting that? Of so, does anyone have some links to something to get an HDMI signal into an FPV unit? We need something fast for upcoming jobs. I've got the voltage vonverter too that allows me to power the HDMI converter off my 3 cell battery. I try to have as much as possible powered by the flight battery for simplicity sake. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks AFFAS! That looks interesting. When you say your unit died, are you talking about the Freefly unit, or this infinity hobby unit? Have you used the Infinity converter? It seems that it might be sketchy where you solder the fpv cables onto the board. Also, can you power this off regular 12v or 3 cell battery without having to use a voltage converter?

Hey Chad. The word is that the FF converter has been disco'd. No word on a replacement. There's another thread here somewhere that has a couple other alternatives. Search around...should be pretty easy to find. I think Kopterworx has one, but they're in Europe.

Kopterworx Mini HDMI works great on my NEX7 and D800. Self powered from the HDMI board. Shipping is the downside, about $45 but I understand that Bart over at multirotorforum may be stocking them in his shop.

Get a Hyperthin/Sanho cable. Small, light and extremely flexible. Hypershop.com or Amazon has the Sanho which is the same thing.

Cool Gary, I don't see any mini HDMI cables though. Just regular.

    That's regular to mini. I need mini-to-mini.

Likely only an adapter will do it. But what device to what device are you trying to hook up?

I'll be hooling up my NEX-5n to the Freefly HDMI converter, or later the Kopterworx converter so I don't have to do the power conversion. I have a mini to mini now but it's thick. I'll be using a gimbal with the NEX, and a thick cable will hinder the movement a little. Any little imbalance can cause ugly vibrations in the gimbal.

It was the Free fly adapter where the connector just left the board infligh.
Replacement done by Freefly but took very long time from Buzzflyer!
And also wrong amount of money on the custom declaration made me pay too much for a replacement.

    Find another unit!

Just so I'm clear, does that Kopterworks HDMI converter take a mini HDMI in, or regular HDMI? My NEX-5n is mini, as are most cameras. So if the Kopterworks converter takes regular sized HDMI, then I can get one of those Hyperthin cables that is nini to standard HDMI.I can't seem to find a hyperthin mini-to-mini. So can someone clarify the size of the HDMI input on the KW converter? Thanks.
