    Hi guys,

I wanted to share a problem I'm currently experiencing in conjunction with the 3 flashing lights. When I power up, IF I can get past the 3 flashing lights, my gimbal starts spinning wildly. Luckily, I'm not under the gun with a looming shoot.

Tabb, I'm currently working with Rich Spiess on this, but thought the other members would be interested in seeing this behavior. It certainly caught me off guard!

Greg what mode are you in (Handheld/Airborne)? Do you have the DX7 turned on? If it is on switch the Off/Majestic/Remote switch to off? ONce you turn it on and stop it from spinning try connecting with the software and doing a System => Default Config.

Uh... That's terrifying. I have a shoot starting in 4 hrs and how I'm all nervous, haha.

A shot of whiskey ought to help.

    Gary,

The DX7 is NOT turned on. The switch is in Majestic mode. I just received my MoVI back from you guys and haven't had a chance to set up a tablet to work. Will do that next.

    Jon,

The first time it happened, I was not prepared. I had the stand on a table. The spinning threw all my accessories that weren't locked down off and onto the floor. The whole rig almost spun off the table and onto the floor. Thank goodness I had the safety screw in the MoVI base plate. Definitely keep a close eye on the unit until it locks into position!

    Gary,

When I take the camera out of the base and power up the MoVI without a payload, the gimbal locks into place (though not in the correct roll position). However, if I have any payload at all on the mounting plate, the gimbal goes crazy.

Get your tablet setup ready to connect, power up while holding the gimbal, get the tablet connected and go to the system menu and click on default config, should give a twitch and then hit the Write Config. Power it down and see if that helps.

hey Gary, no luck. Should I do this step with or without a payload?

I would do it with payload and fully balanced.

  15. Greg - So the good news is we know what the issue is now and it is not something that should ever happen to a standard unit in the field (so Carey, we can put the whiskey away) unless you literally disassembled the MoVI (removing the motor). The less-than-good news is that this one is our mistake. It was caused by a change we made here when we received the unit back yesterday to switch out your roll bar with the engraved one.

Rich and Tabb will work with you to get it resolved via the support ticket you have open.

    Hey Everyone.

First time on set and sure enough, 3 Light fail. Restarted a dozen times, no joy. Tried reseating connectors, no joy. Any immediate help appreciated. (Flown across country to do this so I'm not comfortable throwing my hands up and shrugging.)
