Hello everyone, Wanted to upload some video from some car to car shooting. Really impressed by how it handled. Take a look at some of the footage when we go over speed-bumps...you cant even feel it in the shot! This was only the 2nd time i had built the unit. Its quite intuitive. I have to say that the android app with a nexus and the graphs to display motor angles is awesome, really great for trimming out the system and making it fly. Shot on epic, tokina 11-16mm. Note: I don't condone this kind of behavior, but sometimes we camera people get a little excited... Password: cartocar
Thanks. I wish I had a longer street and a better car...or mabye a motorcycle and camera bike...that would be cool.
This system is just so damn cool and continues to impress, (and I bet it will get even better!.) Every director and filmmaker I have shown it to laughs when they see the shots they can achieve. What ive noticed mostly is how well directors are responding to it as a story telling tool. Instead of being trapped in both blocking and time consuming camera work, my directing friends have all shared in how freeing it is to show someone a shot, and then make it happen. I think many filmmakers will be pleased with the ease and freeing feeling one gets from being able to pick up a system, walk around and do solid clean and complex. Kudos to free-fly for having the belief, mindset and ingenuity to build a system like this as a hand held unit. Im a skeptic but I have to say I'm impressed! Now how can I cram 15lbs into it and mount it on a jib and use remote gear wheels on it!
And hoping that the two drivers don't squash Eric between the cars when they both swerve at the same time towards each other.
Yeah. Like I said I don't condone this type of behavior. Luckily the guy driving the car I was in has been a precision driver for 30+ years. Next time we do this we will be shutting a road down with traffic control. The movi is a very freeing piece of kit. But always remember safety first!!
