Hello Howard, Not sure if there was a discussion going in the "Camera Mount Misc" forum about this topic...here is what we devised: http://www.quadrocopter.com/DC-Power-Cable-for-RED_p_857.html http://www.quadrocopter.com/Hyperion-G179-2500mAh-4S25C-Lipo_p_768.html Any 4cell will do, this 2.5Ah pack runs our Red for about 30min. Greetings, Adam
A friend tested the other day with Vincent, I asked and he said they used RV's in the side handle. Unless I confused him as he's not a RED owner. But I also seem to recall reading that FreeFly said one of the recent developments for the MOVI was increasing the tray size so it could fit RED with side handle... Am I wrong?
Good. For non RC guys, using rc lipos to power the cam would seem to be a pain and possibly risky. One guy here said lipos are lipos, well yes and no. laptop lipos have built-in logic/balancers...you just throw them on a charger and you're done. RC lipos are dumb, no built in logic, you kind of have to baby them in a way, most guys unfamiliar with rc lipos wouldn't think of or may forget to balance them from time to time or check the health of each cell. I could see some guys mistreating them and possibly turning one into a flaming torch.
Yes agreed... I am pretty sure we will see some "fireworks" from the less or non RC experienced folks buying into the Movi craze if there isnt handle or "Red Supported" power paths. There is room/need for a special power pack holder for the redvolts or third party bats for these applications. There are already V bats but many of them are fairly heavy and the already serious weight on the shoulders is enough to make people look at Lipos. Either way I am sure we'll see... " i burnt up my Red " from somebody.
MōVI M10 fits an EPIC with side handle now so this is an option for those who want to go down this path. We are also working on an adapter cable to allow usage of Freefly Lipo batteries for individuals who wish to go down this path. Best, Tabb
This is great Tabb. The easier these questions are handled the more we can concentrate on what the technology allows us to do. There was talk of a dedicated Movi forum - is one going to be established? Be good to concentrate the many questions and discussions in one place. PS - any shipping update???
Is there any news yet on what the warranty is on the Movi's? Also is there a list of any available accessories and their costs? With the basic M10 kit, are there any mounting brackets/plates/devices for say batteries, monitor and transmitter etc.? Or do we need to rely on the tried and proven method of Gaffer tape or cable ties? Regards Garry
Is it confirmed that movi uses gps sensors to aid in keeping things level during rotational or lateral movement? If so, how does gps help when using the unit indoors?
At the risk of repeating myself....again. Does anyone know anything about the warranty of the Movi's???? Is there a list of accessories available???? It would be good to know before taking delivery and then find out you need an additional part thats an accessory. Garry
News in particular about any list of accessories would actually be extremely useful as like Garry I am not based in the US and as such buying everything now for one main shipment would be better than lots of separate orders....I am already expecting a pain in the ass as the items come through Customs Phil
Same here, please give us a list of accessories and spare parts. I can imagine why it's not particularely thrilling for you, but I guess it would be fair to know what we are up to when something breaks.
Yes, I figured that much this is the reason I asked. How does movi respond to rotational and fast lateral moves without gps reference?
Howard, think of it as a brucy bonus....if you aren't from the UK that reference may mean nothing to you thinking about it!! Anyways, I think there point is that its an additional feature for when using very fast moving situations where human operator alone may struggle. Most of these situations will be outside anyway, think cars and boats and the few indoor situations where this may be the case you may just have to deal with it
Hi All. has anyone heard anything regarding the warranty on the Movi's yet?? What about a list of accessories?? regards Garry
