http://www.quadrocopter.com/Freefly-Motor-Control-Set--Pre-Order-Now_p_926.html When I was at NAB Adam mentioned that this will have real battery redundancy. I do not see anything mentioned on QC about this. Any more info on this?
HI Shaun, Yes the distribution board has 2 independent EC5 input leads. We have tested the board up to 300 amps continuous and will be testing even higher this week (will shoot a video) Thanks! Tabb
Good job that's awesome, its long overdue in this industry. I have been waiting for a system that shunts a bad battery. I am not a fan of simply flying two in parallel in case one battery gets a short it will drag the other down. I will have more piece of mind in the future when flying that the copter wont fall out of the air due to a bad batt.
I don't think it does. It doesn't say anywhere in the specs, and I don't see anything on the distribution board that would accomplish that. I think it's still a parallel battery system but with two separate inputs.
Yes, if you have good batteries, one will keep the other from dragging everything down...for a little while.
Hi Shaun, sorry I was not clear on this point. Our board has parallel input leads but they are still connected. Adding protection circuity at the current levels we see on these machines would be difficult and heavy!
Thanks for clearing that up. I may have misunderstood Adam at NAB. I thought it would be hard to this I was researching on how my own circuit, and saw it wasn't easy. I guess I was hoping you guys found a golden egg. Who knows maybe in a few years LiPos by those super capacitors that UCLA developed
This is great....however for me it would would sit in its box till the Synapse is available. Any estimated dates on that yet?
Is anyone using this? How is it working? The power distribution board doesn't look super heavy duty - is it up to the task? How do you connect it to the mikrokopter board?
ok.. sorry I found a few threads http://forum.freeflysystems.com/ind...to-the-freefly-motor-control-system-yet.1745/ http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/ff-motor-control-set-ff-escs.1429/#post-17903
