Converting my CS gimbal to a brushless gimbal

    Hi guys and girls.
    Since the market is getting flooded with brushlles gimbal what a better way to convert my CS gimbal to a brushless one.
    I ordered some items from QC and as soon as they arrive I will start the mod.
    Stay tuned.

    Hello Josh, for now I'll be using two controllers, until they come out with 3axis.
    The Alexmos brushless controller and the Tarot controller.
    The Alexmos will be used to control the roll and tilt of the gimbal and the Tarot the pan.
    One receiver powering two controllers.

    Interesting idea. Where are you buying them? i have looked for the Alexmos but can't find where to buy one?

    you can rty Viacopter, E-copter, Flyduino but I think they are out of stock still waiting for the second batch I guess. But I have three so I'm ok.

    @Howard
    I don't know yet. My mini CS gimbal that I made for the NEX5 is working and weighs at 1.4kg with camera.
    Time will tell.

    Nothing to update yet. QC said my order is shipped. I was checking on some motors and the AHM-BE 4114 seems to be the one to work with the CX700 (up to 1200gr)
    The other is Maxon EC45 I am waiting for confirmation. The AHM's will be in stock soon. (79euro)
    That's all.

    Bill, I need a camera stabiliser for my Fs100, similar to the Movi, been looking at the net is there a open source guide onto making your own. Also its all gobbledy gook to me I have no idea what you guys are talking about. It seems that you can make your own for under $1,000 for a complete noobie where do you start? :eek:

    Current Alexmos controller can not output enough amps for big motors. Let me summarize the current bottlenecks:

    * 3 axis controller is not yet available
    * A ready wounded brushless motor which is capable of 3000 gr is not available. (You can rewound actually).
    * The amp limit of Alexmos controller doesn't allow us to use big motors.

    Edit:
    We don't need big motors for big cameras necessarily; but the most powerful motor as I can find right now iFlight 5206; this motor should provide enough power to handle a 6D with 24mm prime lens if its balanced perfectly. But I'm sure it's won't be enough for Epic / Scarlet.

    Balancing is the most crucial part of brushless gimbals. A brushless motor capable of 2kg torque, will not be able to perform is a 1.5kg camera over the tray is not properly balanced.

    The movi is a coverted CS gimbal with a few extras.
    I'm converting mine I really don't have to buy anything I just make it my self.
    The 5206-150 motor will be good got the FS 1000 provided the camera is balanced perfectly and I mean 150%.
    If you are handy with your hands you can make it also. Or just purchase the Movi10.

    I will be using two different controllers for the 3axis.
    The Alexmos on tilt and roll and the Tarot on pan, so one receiver will control two controllers.
    Ofcourse the pan axis will be the standard servo pulley configuration.
    The TX will control the tilt on elevator and the pan on aileron or rudder.

    What do you think for adding a support arm for roll axis like this:

    For heavy payload, I think it will help to decrease the load on shaft.

    I like this idea. In theory shouldn't the radians be able to send a drive signal to a brush less motor through a small ESC. The radians generate the same Pulse Width Modulation signal that is used in the servos. The signal would need to be amplified. I would guess a small 20A ESC may provided enough drive power. Or is the architecture incompatible?
