Andy. looks like real trouble. good think i recently bought a new Laptop and have all the stuff loaded there. but have love to have the set up going on my PC and not having to use laptop at home.. keeping laptop for all outdoor work though Thanks Ramesh
hi Today i wanted to do a bit of re-configuration on my radians want to use channels 9, 10 and 11 from my JR 11 channel radio But when i click on input channel monitor only the 8 channels on the left window show they r active and chn 9 to 16 on the right window dont show active Is it that i am doing something wrong, or do radians accept only first 8 channels for configuration ???? help Ramesh
Check this response to you from some time back, Ramesh. http://forum.freeflysystems.com/ind...ot-know-about-the-radian.221/page-4#post-7701 It's message #74 that might be helpful. Andy.
Andy.. u sure have some memory, where to find what, and what was written where... awesome buddy..dont know how u do that... and how u have the patience... thanks for reminding me that about Sat Rx,, only high 8 channels r available... many thanks Ramesh
hey Andy, fantastic breakthrough i have had two Orange Spektrum Rx 9ch lying for past 2 years just pulled them out they r DSM2 and have Sbus out just like Futaba so did the binding on my JR11 used the Sbus out to Radians BANG i have all 11 channels visible as green on channel input indicator.. and all responding fantastic....... so did some reprogramming and it works.... So this also means that i can use a JR system on S Bus for one pilot operation and another JR radio on Sat Rx for two pilot operation so no need for one JR and one Futaba. Ramesh
Andy. I sold of my Futaba 8FGS and now i have the 14SG The Radian software just one read the software. if i Read, i get the correct channels that i have programmed each radian to but in the input channel monitor... all channels r dead i am using the Sbus output,,, and not the Sbus2 output the channel monitor was reading all my channes perfectly with 8FGS in Sbus output. Does the 14SG have some issues with the Radians ??? The Wooking M however got programmed perfect with 14SG, no issue at all. But just one input. when i put on the Tx and then the cam mount,,,, both the cam axis are not unlock they respons to my tilting the multicopter, and in the diagnostic window the only green tab is the servo output, and that moves if i tilt the multicopter .... One more issue the 14SG came preset to FASSTest 14 ch. i am now going to change the Tx to operate on FASST MULTI mode, and i remember the 8FG came default to FASST MULTI so Rx will need rebinding i guess. or i may have to use my left over Rx R6208 as i had purchased a spare Rx that time. So here goes .. Ramesh
Andy i linked my Rx R6208SB which i had as an extra when i bought the 8FG, with 14SG Tx on FAST MULTI and bangggggggggg every thing working perfect. So Radians dont talk to the Telemetry Rx which r coming with 14SG .. the R 7008SG. then i tried to do binding once again with Tx still on FAST MULTI with the Rx which came with the 14SG -R7008SB it does not want to Bind so i guess the reason that Futaba gave the four options on the Tx of FASSTest 14CH FASST MULIT S-FHSS FASST 7CH was to make the 14SG backward compatible with its earlier receivers So the Radians have an issue with the R7008SG receivers, cause even though they have Sbus Radian software does not recognise the outputs. This has been such a long journey for me but i am enjoying it totally and the journey has not ended the Spectrum DX18QQ is yet to arrive for my two pilot operation. cheers so far AND I HOPE FREEFLY will come out with a upgrade software to make Radians talk to the new generations on rx with telemetry. Ramesh
Let me ask JohnC if he can comment on your posting. But just to be clear for other forum members who may have the same problem, the solution you found was to switch the 14SG to FASST MULTI, correct? Thanks Andy
Andy. That is right i had to change Tx setting of 14SG to FASST MULTI, AND Use the R6208SB reciever even after changing over to FASST MULTI, I could not use the Telemetry Rx R7008SB Ramesh
Hi Ramesh, The Radian performs some checks the SBUS message to be confident it is valid before it uses it. I suspect the new SBUS changes something slightly and the Radian rejects it. Maybe the Wookong just uses the data without checking. It will certainly be fixed in the next firmware release - but I don't have one of the new radios + receivers yet to find out what is different. As you now know, the workaround for now is to use one of the older sbus receivers for the time being
JohnC. hi thanks for that input. that will be great, but i am surprised that it did not accept SBus for the new telemetry Rx of Futaba... R7008SB. i though Sbus was Sbus, it even accepted the Sbus from Orange Spectrum 9ch Rx.. which actually took me by surprise. i hope that since u guys would develop they system to accept the Sbus from Telemetry Rx i hope u guys will also look at the SBus 2, which uses the Telemetry. cause then may be some telemetry sensors can be used on the Aux ports of the Radians so that some gadget could but but there and used. anyway great to know u guys will look into the aspect of the Sbus on Futaba telemetry Rx R7008SB and similar ones many thanks Ramesh
JohnC, the other thing about Sbus2 on R6008SB Rx is this you cannot use Sbus servos on Sbus2. one can use Sbus2 servos, or Sbus2 Gyro, and the telemetry sensors. But the Sbus on the R7008SB rx can use Sbus2 servos, but NOT telemetry sensors... What surprises me is why has the Sbus changed on the Telemetry Rx, Ramesh
Andy. some time back i was asked to do a video by first keeping Radian Stabelisation ON and then OFF here is the link. the fist part of video is with Radians stabilization ON the second part is with Radians mode OFF, i cant believe the diff from my understanding it appears i may have put gain tooo high Do give some inputs but i do plan to do one more test with Gains reduced. http://youtu.be/DwTWVpn7_Mk Ramesh
Ramesh better to do the test in forward flight. Anytime you are hovering is the worst situation since you are sitting in a bubble of 'dirty' turbulent air. What gain settings do you have?
Ramesh: In the first part of the video you appear to have the copter descending into it's own prop-wash -- the turbulent air below the copter. That's unfortunately not a very good test as the whole airmass is very turbulent. So if you have the Radians on for that part, it's a pretty harsh test. You will need to experiment some more with the correct gain settings on the bench with the copter suspended....tap the gimbal and see how quickly the vibrations are damped. What you're look for is that sweet spot between the oscillations being damped but without it being "wooden" in it's response. When you tilt and roll the copter the gimbal should respond quickly, but, as I say, when you tap the gimbal, then you should see the oscillations die away within, oh, say, 250-500 milliseconds. When you are adjusting the gains, you can initially go up or down by large values, but as you refine the setting you should be reducing the increment and decrement until you're only changing it by 1% at a time. Hope this helps. Andy.
Gary and Andy thanks for that input. i had left the gains at 100% I have not brought Roll and Tilt Gains to 60% will do another test run with radians on and then off will take videos while going up and then moving forward in both situations hope to see some improvement i am actuallly encouraged after seeing the video with radians off so it is confirmed that i need to play with the gains definitely. Ramesh
Hello, i have a quick question. Im planning to buy the Radians for my 2-axis camera gimbal on my Cinestar 6. Im a single pilot. Im running Wookong eletronic and Spektrum DX8 with AR8000 and satelitte. I wounder how i connect the radians so i can control the modes and tilt for the camera. Do i need another satelite or can i just connect the radians from the AR8000 that i controll the copter from?
