    I'm having problem to load the latest new firmware.

    In the bootloader, I tried to load the firmware file, but when I located the file, in the bootloader status bar, it says invalid data format on input line 1. I can't program the new firmware. Help please!!!

    Best Regards,
    Rui Ma

    this I bought from QC last year nov or dec 2012 until now I am installing them
    first
    here are my serials to start ruling things out
    pan S# 010A-0869-000000
    Roll S# 010A-0887-000000
    Tilt S# 010A-080f-000000

    thanks

    Weird weird weird ok here I go
    3 Radiants, 3 axis FF gimbal, the 3 have firmware 1.03(28-99), firmware loaded successfully using bootloader 1.1
    the 3 are connected in this order Pan, to Roll, to Tilt
    Pan
    1 = power (from a CC BEC) that is conected to a fresh 3S lipo
    2 = free
    3 = to roll
    4 = servo
    5 = free
    6 = free

    Roll
    1 = from pan
    2 = free
    3 = to tilt
    4 = servo
    5 = free
    6 = free

    Tilt
    1= from roll
    2 = free
    3 = free
    4 = servo
    5 = free
    6 = free

    I am using a Spektrum DX8 with a satelite conected to the pan radiant mode switch is on the f-mode map to Gear.
    here is the weird part on power up I get random results:
    Spektrum on, mode off (radio is not been touch on power up)

    example of RANDOM 1
    power On, the 3 radiants solid yellow light, blinking green,
    Radio ON, mode On, the 3 radiants solid yellow and solid green the system works OK Pan, Roll, Tilt works
    Radiants power off, radio stays on mode switch off

    example of RANDOM 2
    power On, 2 radiants solid yellow light, blinking green, 1 radiant (tilt) has 2 solid lights
    Radiants power off, radio stays on mode switch off

    example of RANDOM 3
    Power on ,Pan radian 2 blinking lights, Roll 2 lights solid, Tilt only green is solid
    if I switch the mode to on (slew) only the pan works
    Radiants power off, radio stays on mode switch off

    example of RANDOM 4
    Power on, Pan and Roll 2 blinking lights, Tilt 2 solid lights
    if I switch the mode to on (slew) only the pan and Roll works

    and so on, at times it works ok for several power on and off but suddenly it starts this random thing I try to move away from my computer thinking some type of interference put the gimbal and the radio on the ground (living room tile floor) same randomness

    What could it be, in some earlier test I went to each radiant and made sure that the Pan had the spectrum box on but the other ones s-bus
    Connect to software got green, then Read first, adjust and then write, some times I could not get the Roll and the tilt to check the s-bus box could it be the Spektrum satellite ?

    thanks guys

    Ok so kind of I suspected that perhaps the Spektrum Satelite had some thing to do with the random behavior on power up but I also have a Graupner MX-20 and a extra Graupner GR-12 so binded them together and I connected the power from the BEC to the port #1 and the pan radiant to port 8 on the GR-12 sum all-12 on the radio and it work.....not so fast power down.....power up and the randomness begin
    so there you have it
    any ideas ?

    Hi Jose:
    Sorry about the delay in responding. My day job was demanding my attention.

    OK. The above sounds good.

    That all seems fine too.

    Just to confirm: you are powering the Radians off, correct.
    Also, when you power the Radians off, they are disabled by the mode switch.

    Hmm. So the tilt Radian has gone into Bootloader mode for reasons unknown.
    Pan and roll are working correctly -- at least based on the lights.

    This is starting with Mode off, from what you say.
    Also on the pan Radian, are the lights blinking slowly or rapidly?

    So the tilt Radian has gone back into Bootloader mode it appears.
    Pan and Roll seem to work.

    You're correct to check for possible interference. Do you happen to have another BEC you could try?

    What could it be, in some earlier test I went to each radiant and made sure that the Pan had the spectrum box on but the other ones s-bus
    [/quote]
    Those checkboxes are not something you set -- they just indicate what the Radians have detected. The one connected to the receiver should be Spektrum, but the others in the chain talk S.bus.

    Correct. See my answer above.

    I'd start by trying to simplify things. Disconnect the Pan Radian from both the servo and the roll Radian sensor so that it is the only thing in the chain -- does it still behave randomly?

    If the randomness is still present, then that would suggest that the problem is either the BEC, the receiver, or the Radian sensor.

    If it works correct, then connect up just the roll Radian sensor and test again....

    If it continues to work, add the third Radian (leave the servos off).

    What I'm suggesting is adding pieces back until it no longer works correctly.

    Andy.

    Thanks for letting us know the outcome. As you say, QC is a good solid dealer.

    @Justin:
    I gather from your PM that you've got a serial number mismatch. I'm uploading the current version of the firmware that I have in the hope that that will solve the problem. Let me know if it does not.

    If it doesn't help can you post an image of the Bootloader screen after you have selected the firmware file and connected to the Radian sensor, please?

    Hope this helps.
    Andy

    Hi JohnC,

    I finally got the new radians. No Bootloader problem anymore BUT...
    one of them does keep orange led blinking.
    When starts-up "levelled" to the right side it initializes correctly.
    When starts-up "leveled" to the left it does not initialize and orange led keep blinking.

    I am giving up...3 months has passed and I can't get it 100% working.

    Really need help here.

    Tks,
    Sylvio

    Hi,

    we have got the same problem as others, when updating the software...

    It says, current version 255:255....

    and serial number 010A-0c38:000000.

    When we connect it to the battery always appear both lights steady...

    It seems that is always in bootloader mode. Progaming failed. Serial Nº Mismatch

    We tryed to program the firmware that is here to download 1.03 (28-99) and it doesn´t work...

    Any suggestions?

    The 3 Axis Radian where bought to Kopterworx.

    If the Radian is bad, what should we do?

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Marcel:

    Would you be kind enough to change your user name to your real first name and last name, please? The reasons for this (and how to do it) are explained here: http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/real-names.497/

    Secondly, yes, I'm sorry to say it does sound like you will have to go back to Kopterworx.

    Is it the only Radian you have? I was just curious if you have others to which you can successfully download the new firmware.
    OK -- just a tiny nagging doubt that there might be something in your hardware/software setup....

    Also just in case it might make a difference, I'm uploading the version of the firmware that I have here -- it should be the same, but it would be nice to try it before you talk to Kopterworx.

    Hope this helps
    Andy

    Its like a firmware problem that have been erased and now we can not program the new one...

    The problem is the same that got Ziv on october...

    http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/radian-error-message-when-updating-software.311/

    I hope we dont have any problem with kopterworx as its a known failure as it said Adam to Jose

    "Adam very kindly said Jose dont worry we know of the problem on a selected few Radiants, send them in we will replace them at nc asap so I did yesterday its great to have a solid dealer "

    Thx, tomorrow will try your firmware version but I dont spect it to work...

    OK, Albert. Thanks for the information. You may be correct and the firmware has become erased.
    Let me know what you find tomorrow.

    Hi all again...

    We are still waiting the answer from Kopterworx...

    Thinking about my problem, I arrived to the conclusion (it doesn't have to be correct ; ) that now the bad radian is like just built, without any firmware, and may be, the firmaware 1.0 was able to write it...

    I am sure that de 1.02 and 1.03 doesn't work but I woul like to try with 1.0 and 1.01...

    The problem is I can not find them to download...

    Any help?

    Thx again!!

    Good questions, Sedric -- but ones I could better answer if I were an FreeFly employee, I'm afraid (and I'm not!) :)
