    Hi Everyone

As stated in another thread I have found a supplier in China who can manufacturer custom hard cases. Made in China, although what isn't these days!
Specs given are 9mm black laminated plywood, rubber feet, ball corners, handles on each side and butterfly latches.

I have given them the picture below as reference of what we would like. I have given internal dimensions of 103 x 103 x 15cm is everyone happy with these dimensions?

COST: 10 @ $350 per case including shipping from China.

These things need a closing date otherwise they drag on forever. We need a minimum of 9 people (excluding myself) by the 20th of March.

Please let me know if you would like one. No backing out please.

Sam, are they shipping to each of us individually? Or is there additional shipping from you to us? Either way, count me in for one.

I assume $350 is case only and not including the 'purdy' foam on the inside with velcro in all the right spots?

The cost is only for shipping the bulk lot together. The cost includes custom cut foam, no Velcro, so we will need to decide on how it's cut and also the case depth for gimball or no gimbal.

I can ask for a cost of two bigger cases, everything can be done for a cost.

So a case for both together or a separate case for the gimbal?
Everyone who is interested please comment on what would be ideal.

My thoughts was a case like this for local transport and a 1620 for when flights are required to pack down into.

I'd be interested in a "both together" case, Sam. Just need it to put in the back of the SUV, open it up and go fly.

Actually, for me, the devious reason for putting in the case is so that I can rotate it 90 degrees and stack it in the SUV so that the plane of the booms is vertical and it takes up a smaller footprint in the SUV rather than having it resting on the rear floor and taking up most of the floor space but with dead space above it.

I think about buying / making a quick release system myself, so I would favor two cases.

The project looks really good and price is less than I expected, but I would be more interested in a "L" size for bigger booms drones.

I would also be interested in an L size for the 500 or 550 booms as HL's become available.

What would be the ideal depth of a case to fit the gimbal?

    One case best?
    That would make it 103x103x60cm!
I rather have the camera support in a separate smaller case I guess.
And I've been wondering, since most people seem to be looking forward for the new HL models, why not make the case a bit bigger?
A bigger case (115-120cm?) with some internal smart redesign can fit all sizes, from standard frames to big HLs.
That is if Tabb is not planing to release a foldable HL system next!

Andy...I'm about to have this company ( http://www.caseworld.tv/6501.html ) build a custom case for my CS8 so I can open and fly. Custom foam inserts are options they can accommodate. A ballpark price is $500-$600. All cases are FAA certified and can take a beating. Made in Pomona, CA, turnaround time is less than a week once ordered. I have to point out that this is an unfinished case as they are wrapped with a rugged polymer coating...in the color of your choice. See other cases on the site for examples. This particular case is listed under the "military" tab.
John, the individual I spoke with was very helpful. Here's his contact info if your interested.
    The rough dimensions are 41"x41"x16"

    Hi Chris:
That looks like a pretty good case. Do they custom cut the foam or is it pick'n'pluck style foam that you customize yourself?

    Andy.
