Hi Ziv, I remember seeing your videos some time ago. I remember thinking to myself while watching "nice commentary" Are you the same guy that tested the Axi 4120 motors on a coax? How did that go?
Go Ziv! lets see 16 Anyways this is the setup that I've been flying for the last 6 months for work (yes... still making the rats nest for power dist wires, its not as clean as some of you folks builds). Xoar 16x5's and again MT 3515's with CC 50s and a custom WKM mixer. The stock mixer for DJI X8 is poor with all the motors on top rotating one way and the bottoms the other. Lots of yawing issues with power on. I messed around with different size props on top and bottom with mixed results and only minor improvements in flight times. The way it handles is worth the 8-10% or so loss of power and you can up the prop size to counter it. I still have a Flat 8 that had the I2C converter tests and now another WKM in it, but the way it handles is a lot different and honestly not quite as good as X config and specially in wind which this one below is very good in. Its pretty easy to convert over from the standard CS8 so I am curious how many are on the fence about this and why they haven't changed over?
Good feedback Brad. I wonder why more haven't at least tried coax as well. You can't go wrong! BTW, I like your rat's nest..I have a nest too
firsy of all i have 4s system and not 6s.. thats bad on x8 because of the efficiency and secondly i have hfp pro an thats why i don't try it... i want to hear some reviews about hfp an X8
Got some more testing today! Howard, your settings work real good on my Chop!Im at the point where its as stable in hover as the flat, still a few litle twiches sometimes.. definetly more stable in the wind and descending,I have virtually no shakes if aI take it easy! Im just getting used to the new orientation and reactions but I reckon it was definetly worth it!
Yes! well so far its only a handle and also what it hangs/hooks into in the vehicle for transport. There's one on the back as well and all loaded up its pretty heavy so it makes it easier lifting for sure. Actually you saw my other X config I posted earlier in this thread and its only 4s and carries the 5D3 very nicely. So really 4s should not be an issue. Like you say though maybe HFP is...
Hi Brad, Just wondering, do you run the same size and pitch props on the top and bottom? Do you spin your bottom motors faster? Starting to mess with mine now!! Cheers Matt
Hello Considering a Y6 for "in wind stability" and greater vertical field of view Any feedback on cinestar Y6 with mk and cinestar gimble ? thanks Denis
Hey Matt Ya I been messing about with a few things... same size but more pitch on bottom, different size and same pitch etc etc. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=22234552&postcount=14419 this mixer I have had the best results with and the same props.
Hey Brad, Thanks for your reply. Heres a question for all you gurus out there. Tried my second c8 in a coax setup. Normal mk setup with axi 2814-22 motors and apc 14.47 props-only carrying gimbal and cx760. In my normal setup it flew really well and never overheated. in the coax setup it flew soooo well-very stable but very high temps in the 90's celcius. Any ideas guys? Any suggestions appreciated. Sorry if it seems obvious to some of you. Cheers Matt
you ran this config ? Matt, that's a Scarlet. The give away is the battleship grey on the front there but otherwise they are pretty much the same footprint.
