I suppose if you are using a two axis gimbal the X config would be better, in the sense that you will less likely get the front boom at in the way of your shot if you are really cranking the nose down. This will be negotiable on wind angle lenses cause you will have two booms potentially in frame. If you have a three axis gimbal it will be negligible. I personally like the + config myself.
Pavlos I be curious to hear why they think it would be better performance. A 22.5 degree change in orientation? I don't see why it would 'better' from a performance standpoint.

I Believe he is meaning I8 called +8 sometimes and V8, not X8. I have the same problem. Should I change to V8 setup or not. Clearly there is a difference. In V8, there are no motors on the axis, on other one there are.
