Hey FF, Has anyone tinkered with their Paralinx Tomahawk transmitters? We still have a few but every time the client says, "Can we fly over there," pointing to some far-off location where we can't stand, we always shudder. We are going to get some Amimon Connex units, but wondering if there is a way to mod the existing Tomahawks to get better transmission distances. Product specs are 600M, we top out around 200M. Wondering if we could replace the antennas with cables and get them much lower on the rig? Derek
Which receiver antenna are you using? We get crazy good distance with a couple blue beam CP antenna's on the transmitter and the Paralinx Array antenna on the ground.
Not familiar with blue beam CP antennas - pics and details on where you sourced them? We use both standard antennas on the receiver and the Paralinx Array. When you say "crazy good distance," what are you seeing in terms of meters? More than 200? Thanks Duane - appreciate it.
Just shy of 1 km but all depends on the line of sight and any interference. This is the style of circular polarizer antenna - http://www.getfpv.com/ibcrazy-5-8-ghz-bluebeam-ultra-antenna-set.html
1km??!! Wowzers - that is awesome. Those look similar to these: http://www.paralinx.net/store/cloverleaf-antennas Did you ever test the Paralinx cloverleaf antennas to compare?
